Yay! Guilty! (not Me)

I posted some details on Manxnet just after new year concerning an incident with a dangerous driver who tried to make my mother crash into the back of him 3 times, after she dared to briefly flick her lights at him for driving dangerously close behind her with full beam headlights on.

Quite a lot of people took the xxxx at the time but one or two actually said to say how we got on and I'm delighted to say that apparently after denying (from the time of the complaint until now) doing any sort of dangerous driving, the pillock has actually pleaded guilty to whatever the charge was.

We were all due in court tomorrow and to be honest I was looking forward to it to see this dangerous berk face to face but now they've admitted it at the last minute that won't happen.

Apparently they've only got £100 fine and 3 points (I think it should be a much bigger fine for the amount of police time that has been wasted because they've been lying about it until now but there you go), but at least it will show them up for the potential danger they represent to other people and at the same time my mother will be spared having to go to court.

With a bit of luck they'll get the message that you can't get away with trying to 'terrorise' other people on the roads!:P

Result.

Yeayh! Victory for the little people.. well you know what I mean - all too often it's the other way around.

Well it wasn't a pleasant encounter - it certainly rattled me a bit.

Just glad it's done now and the bellend has received a punishment (albeit a fairly mild one considering there could very easily have been a crash).

Serve them right, plus I suppose they'll have the minor embarassment of going in the paper for it I expect.

Good to hear Cret

Hopefully those 3 points will make them think before tailgating + brake testing people in the future!

I've spotted some terrible examples of driving this week :(

1) Driving through Santon Tuesday night. P*issing down with rain and quite foggy, hence me and the car I'm following are doing about 40mph with foglights on. Car coming the other way with no foglights on clearly took objection to us using our foglights, hence decded to dazzle us by flashing full beam instead? :o

2) Again Tuesday night. Heading along Castletown bypass now out of the fog, but the rain had picked up and there was a lot of standing water around. I'm not a fan of driving in the wet at all hence am still pootling along same kind of speed. Some idiot hares it past me and manages to squeeze into the gap between me and the car in front. I obviously back off to leave some kind of stopping distance between my car and the idiot. I swear the idiot then sat about 4 foot behind the car in front of them (serious tailgating and absolutely stupid due to conditions!) right through until fishers hill where they overtook them and sped off. I know that I have more respect for the roads in those conditions than to drive at any sort of pace. I expected to find the car on it's roof / in a wall somewhere along the way home!

D*ckheads like that are the ones causing accidents and driving my insurance costs higher!

Anyone tailgates me, I get to a section in the road where they can't overtake (double white lines, corners, blind spots etc) and slow down to 10mph.

As they beep their horn, flash their lights and make gestures, I just stick my arm out the window and point backwards until they finally get the message.

I slow down with my hand brake (if not going too fast of course.... no screeching handbrake turns etc) so that they get a fright when they nearly disappear up my arse having had no break light warning. That generally puts them off actually.

Observer, that is very naughty.......but I like it. I do the drive as slowly as possible thing too - POWER!

I like it when silly drivers overtake you and fail to be any better off traffic wise. Last week some fool overtook me coming out of Kirk Michael, I'd slowed down to allow a car to turn right, the white van man took humbridge to this and overtook me, on the brow of a hill. Oh how I laughed when I arrived on his tail pipe by St Johns and stayed there all the way to Douglas...silly little boy.

Yesterday one of those stupid penis extensions (WRX Mitsibushi) overtook me by Summerland on its way to Skandia - what a whopper!

If someone tailgates you in the daytime just turn your lights on - sometimes it looks like from behind you've stepped on the brakes. Watch in the rear view mirror when they sh*t themselves and jump on the brakes

Yeah, those are my kind of tricks Lectro.... teehee!

I either like to get them right up my arse with no lights warning, or freak 'em out with unexpected and frequent lights.

Bitch eh?

I slow right down when being tailgated too with frequent steps on the brake whilst smiling cheerfully at the dickwad in the mirror.

Wonder if anyone actually speeds up like they clearly want.

Shame he only got £100 fine but some sort of justice is better than the normal (in my experience) feck all.

Observer, that's two posts in a row you've referred to things getting right up your arse. It's not Freudian is it?

Rare occasion - bad conditions/speed limit/girlfriend in car, I do the same as ans.

Otherwise open roads, preferably they goto overtake, I floor it - they are left in the middle of the road looking like right cocks. Naughty I know - but gives me the LOL's
