spanna Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Does anyone know if its going to be shown on tv anywhere? Ive seen a couple of youtube clips and it looks brilliant.
Naighteyr Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 It certainly had in-car cameras so would imagine so.
ScotsAlan Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 The course was actually officially handed over to Subaru from the ACU before the lap could start. So it seems Subaru "rented" the track from the ACU, or whoever. As a marshal who was stood there, apparently having my volunteer time rented out to a co-orporation, I think the least Subaru could do is give us all a hat. Or donate a Subaru car to the Marshals raffle... But that's just the way I see it, so I am probably totally wrong :-( But it was a cool lap :-)

ScotsAlan Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I'm not complaining....I'm just sharing my uneducated opinion....
paswt Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I'm not complaining....I'm just sharing my uneducated opinion.... I understand the TTMA received a donation from theI.O.M. section of the VMCC as token of their appreciation for marshals staying at their posts for their parade lap. I am just grateful that we get off the mountain now before the cone waggons.

That's good news. :-) But if they shared the info with us we maybe would not express our uneducated opinion so much :-) And an excellent result that you get off the mountain in a timely manner now paswt. Maybe it's working out better for us, after the the big man said what he said :-)
RC-Drift.com Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Watching the 4 vids so far 'youtubed' it's obvious the spectators are VERY suitably impressed and the sound is awesome, spine tingling even
gazza Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 have to agree that noise is top. this could work in favor for the TT, buy having a car section run on the course, could well be a trial year for more thing to come. I do know that the car doing the lap has brought the wider people who noramly would not care or watch the TT more intrsted in it, so all good for the sport, good bit of PR id say and glad somebody in the group has seen this as a good thing to let it run
spanna Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Aye, I couldnt give two hoots about the TT but am now looking into where I can pop down to on friday just to see Higgins bomb past. I reckon they should use a thursday as a car race day. Get the big rally or touring cars or something.
CJW Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I reckon they should use a thursday as a car race day. Get the big rally or touring cars or something. Yeah, 'cos there just aren't enough disruptions already. Top thinking.

Yeah, instead of just bike nutters throwing themselves off the roads all over the joint, we'd have car nutters doing the same. I can see it now, all the cars on their roofs in the fields along the mountain path... Yes this is an awesome idea. /sarcasm.
Tempus Fugit Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Is it true he averaged 113Mph? yep, and missed a gear change at the hairpin !
