The Old Git Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 In the wake of the Butler Report, the bye election results, etc., are we now seeing a number of “eyecatching initiatives with which Tony Blair can be personally associated” coming from New Labour in at attempt to drive the political agenda away from Iraq, or am I just being a cynical old git? What have we had so far? Railways, fathers right, law & order. I wonder what tomorrow will bring as a distraction from the Commons Debate on Iraq?
Speckled Frost Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 The issue won't go away and everyone will remember it come next year's election. Trouble is, the opposition parties are too weak to gain power. It will be a case of the opposition losing the election rather than Blair winning it (and I'm pretty sure Blair will still be the leader ine the spring too).
