Odd Sox

Not a glorious start but hey ya can't have everything.

 

Odd sox messing up my mind why are they being so unkind?

An odd sock in the drier another under the bed

I can’t find two the same it’s doin in my head

Black ones blue ones white ones and grey

In pairs in the sock drawer that’s where I want them to stay

I’m fighting a losing battle to keep the sox in check

Can I find a pair when I’m late for work? Can I buggery Oh flippin heck

So if you see a strange man with odd sox please don’t flee

I am now converted, an odd sock wearer me

Oh god, this sounds just like work...

I HATE odd socks (real ones, not this poem) where do they come from eh?? They seem able to breed on their own for some reason - I always have nearly half a dozen every week and then you feel obliged to keep them in case the mysterious 'other' which was beamed up to some higher plane of existence turns up... and they NEVER do. I periodically throw a paddy at the odd sock stash cluttering the kitchen and assertively throw them in the bin and then invariably, next wash...yes the VERY NEXT WASH... some of the damn partners get beamed back down again.

As someone who repairs washing machines I can say that not many socks get lost in the wash (Bra wires are another thing, I wonder how many women are walking around lopsided due to lack of support, they don't notice either)
