Speckled Frost Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Saw some of that programme on pagans last night and the narrator said that one of the worst things Christianity has done is to encourage us distance ourselves from our animal instincts and make us ashamed of our sexuality and baser needs. Do you think he was right? Links in some ways to the debate recently on mothers breast feeding in public.

Do you think he was right? I was delighted to learn that shagging horses is fine - and that anyone who drives a Ferrari secretly wants to. Channel 4, that fine upstanding public service broadcaster, brings Eurotrash to the Dark (and Middle) Ages. Spanking young nubile women with birch twigs to illustrate a dubious point is a great way of educating the public about the past. It was a load of tosh, stretched out way too long. With very little evidence and a lot of supposition. It's an erect penis says our presenter. It could be an arm, says the woman who makes a life out of studying the images in Sweden. But that point of view isn't examined.
