Nom de plume Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Despite being denied the opportunity to play Kurdistan at the Bowl on the same date by the IOMFA. All very interesting.
Zammo Maguire Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hmmm. Game at the Bowl or post match piss up in France. Decisions decisions.....
Lost Login Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Seems a case of willy waving to me. I like and enjoy sport but I prefer other sports to football, and don't really follow local football. But from what I have heard I have often thought that locally the Manx FA forget that football is just plyaed by amauters for enjoyment to no great level. Ok we all play to the best standard we can but in the main we still basically play for fun. The Manx FA come across to me as if they are some ruling professional body. My view is that if a local player wants to go and play for Mifa or whatever it is called. It is up to him. Nowt to do with the Manx FA neither is it down to the Manx FA when Mifa want to play matches or where. The only ones who should have a say are a players individuals club/ fellow players and then basically just to say look mate it is our policy that when picking teams we pick the guys who turn up and train regularly. If you go swanning off there might not be a game for you next time around
CBman Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Manx FA my arse. Power has gone to somebody's head. FIFA must be getting worried now.
Albert Tatlock Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I blame that Juan Blatter.FIFA? Fee fer parkin...fee fer pooping?
Uhtred Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I blame that Juan Blatter.FIFA? Fee fer parkin...fee fer pooping? Fumbling International Foreign Arseholes
Flubbergump Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Two "Governing" bodies. One has cash and no responsibility One has responsibility and no cash Hence, one is going out of its way to even the playing field by threatening Amateur footballers with sanctions if they dare to go against its rules. Why it thinks for a second thats not going to lead to more conflict, and those same footballers walking away from their organised competitions, to the detriment of the sport, is beyond me.
Monkey boy Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 The trouble with the Manx FA is that they're in the pockets of the English FA who have turned what was a working class fun activity into an over regulated, political money making machine with little regard for the fans that produce the money in ever increasing quantities. MIFA is the best thing that's happened in Manx football for a long time, long may it continue.
Gizo Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 If you not up to speed on MIFA being dumped out of the World Cup this week, get on Twitter it’s hilarious. synopsis is MIFA got beaten by the hosts and dumped out of tourny (MIFA are bookie favourites) only to find out that the star player who single handedly beat them is illegible to play. The Governing body have basically shafted MIFA and MIFA have spat the dummy out and refuses to fulfill their fixtures. #lovetwitter
piebaps Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 http://www.iomtoday.co.im/article.cfm?id=41078&headline=Ellan And been expelled.
Albert Tatlock Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Crap name Manx Independent Football Alliance (MIFA). The Manx Independent League Football Society sounds much better.
Knoxville Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Bunch of footballers having a flounce, well I never "I'm taking my ball and going home".....
