ManxTaxPayer Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Alonso out of the Bahrain GP on medical grounds after his crash in Australia.
notwell Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Nah. Bernie losing me as a fan. Me freeing up a lot of weekends to do something more constructive. Win win. That's what happened with Moto GP. Although that was Dorna rather than Bernie. At least you can watch the full race on TV afterwards for moto gp.
ManxTaxPayer Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Well, that (Bahrain) was pretty good! Great job from Haas and Grosjean again.
ManxTaxPayer Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 And I don't think I can stand that Welsh kids TV presenter all season either. Jesus, he really brings fuck all to the party.
war baby Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Bahrain certainly disposes of the idea that F1 has no overtaking. Good race, particularly from 4th down.
Mission Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 And I don't think I can stand that Welsh kids TV presenter all season either. Jesus, he really brings fuck all to the party. I'm glad it's not just me, he needs to go, much like this daft new qualifying and the sooner the better for both.
ManxTaxPayer Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 It's not just us! Check some of the comments under this article. The Prince of Australia? Oooh..... /cringe....
Burt Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/35987323 Thank goodness for that.
dilligaf Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/35987323 Thank goodness for that. F1 needs to go back in time 20 years to make it watchable. ATM it is crap and an embarrassment to motorsport. It isn't sport at all in it's present format.
war baby Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 That takes us back to 1996 when Williams was dominant with 12 wins. Yes, those were exciting days. I was lucky enough as a young lad to be taken to see the sport in its immediate post war infancy and witness inspiring legends like Fangio, Farina, Ascari, Moss, Hawthorn, Gonzales and many others racing proper cars... ERA's, Alfas, Vanwalls and the new comers Ferrari. I can still smell the Castrol R. I am not sure the races were as good or better back then, but the cars were truly spectacular. Going back further in time, the Mannin Moar races in the mid 1930s around Douglas were, in effect, the British Grand Prix of their day. But I was not around then.
Mission Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I'm glad they've seen sense. That aggregated laps suggestion was also stupid so a switch back to the 2015 format is a relief. In some respecs I'd liked to have been around for those times war baby but I am glad to have been a fan since the mid eighties at least.
war baby Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Another good race with loads of overtaking. Have a look at the recording if you missed it.
the stinking enigma Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 bit harsh this considering he was on the podium 2 races ago https://www.formula1.com/content/fom-website/en/latest/headlines/2016/5/red-bull-replace-kvyat-with-verstappen.html
mbx Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Keeps verstappen in the fold for the foreseeable future instead of him looking out from Toro Rosso at Mercedes or Ferrari etc.
