The competitor crashed at the Mill Road roundabout, bringing out the red flags with around 15 minutes remaining. He was flown to hospital by air ambulance.

A statement issued by the organisers said: “A rider has crashed at Mill Road roundabout during the Superbike practice session at the Vauxhall International North West 200 today.

“He has sustained non-life threatening injuries and is being taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by air ambulance.”

The first races are set to take place on Thursday evening around the 8.9-mile course on the north coast.

Not at all, just relaying what I'd read on the BBC website, in the absence of any other information it is positive news. I wish them both a speedy recovery.

Yeah, it did look worse on another viewing, it didn't look too bad live. I suppose it's because the helicopter shot was curtailed so abruptly in order to prevent certain scenes going out on the air, it didn't seem so bad. Vision Nine should take note. The TT is never going to work for live broadcast.
