HeliX Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Eh? Do you actually watch the TT at all? I assume you are referring to Michael? He's probably one of the smoothest riders out there. You don't lap at over 133 mph being out of control with a death wish. I think if you are implying the death wish aspect to any TT rider then fine, I guess. But at one specific rider? I'd be more concerned about someone like Dan Kneen to be fair. And even Anstey seems to have got very ragged trying to push to keep up with the top 3 or 4. GM's skill on a motorbike vis a vis other top riders is probably a matter of opinion. He's a serial road race winner in his career (there are other meetings other than the TT) and is one of only a handful of riders to steer his bike around the course at over 132 mph. It may end badly, for anyone. I wouldn't call MD "smooth", but it certainly appears to be a controlled sort of madness. A bit like Marc Marquez is. Watching MD into Ballacraine is terrifying.
notwell Posted January 20, 2017 Author Posted January 20, 2017 Marquez has the comfort of huge runs off these days although it is quite something to watch them slide the bike in. Hvae you watched the onboard of MD? He's very rarely out of line or shape these days. Plater (when he was riding), on the other hand...................................................
Whimsy Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Maybe his TV cheques are running low and he needs a top up Just reading his latest book, "When you Dead, You Dead" He earns £12 and hour as a truck mechanic, and there is no way he will be changing his lifestyle. He says he is not short of money but he doesn't need much if they way he lives is correct.
Bobbie Bobster Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 @Slinky I have no idea. Not true actually, I doubt if they make them. However, evidence from the article that the photo appeard in suggests that he is indeed the owner of the vehicle pictured.
Chinahand Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Just watched Our Guy in China on 4OD. Great telly and his personality just shines through. I wish him well for his TT return. Que sera sera.
asitis Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I like his tv programmes a very genuine warmth as a presenter, I do wish he wouldn't come back to TT though !
asitis Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Why? I don't have to spell it out do I and be labelled as anti TT, which I am not !
