The Canadamobile

Awens to All:

I have a Burgundy Red 96 Chevy Lumina that I Decorated into something of a Show Car by Painting a Big White Maple Leaf in the Center of the Hood.

I call it "Canadamobile":

I Decorated it that way in order to make it stand out in a Car Show that was being held in a Parking Lot of the Royal Canadian Legion.  The Car Show was sponsored by the Heads Unlimited High Performance Engine Car Works.

Here is it as the 2013 Car Show:

 

The nice thing about a Chevy Lumina is that it has a High Capacity Trunk so you can store loads of Camping Equipment in it for going off into the Mountains for a spot of Camping.

And the morning after visiting a Family for Halloween, someone placed a Candy in the center of the Leaf which meant more to me than any Car Show Prize:

The Package of Candy is taped to my Dash Board along with my Car Show Participant Stickers and will never be Eaten.

I'd eat the candies, that's what the person who left them for you intended. If you don't, and leave them on the dash, they'll become a melted lump. Scoff 'em and put the empty bag back.

As you all know, Canada Day is Saturday 1 July.  I well remember my first Canada Day in Newfoundland in 2006 when, according to tradition, all the Newfoundlanders went to Dollarama, bought tens of thousands of dollars of red and white stuff (hats, T-shirts, flags etc etc) then wrapped up against the wind and driving rain and pretended to have a good time having BBQs in a field, a bit like that episode of Father Ted and the Craggy Island Fete.  Ah, them were the days.  The IOM should do a Canada Day because apparently there are a lot of Canadians here.

I think its the pictures of the favourite camping spot that wins it for me. Having had a brilliant holiday touring with an RV in Canada I find it amazing that somewhere that appears to be the dumping spot for the highway department's gravel is the best place to camp.

If you went to the effort of painting a maple leaf, why not paint the car in the correct colour as well?

Yeah, but most of them were lumberjacks. They're OK, but they tend to put on women's clothing and hang around in bars and have weird work patterns .

Oh - BTW:

You might notice a small little Dent on the very nose of Canadamobile.

The Weekend before the 2015 Heads Unlimited Car Show in the Legion Parking Lot, a Church Bus came into my Parking Lot at about Midnight and was turning around when it Smashed my Front Left Light Cover and Fender.  The Church Bus Driver thought he had also did the Little Dent on the Nose of Canadamobile.

A neighbor ran and got me and I got the Church Bus's Information and made my Insurance Claim and got all the Damage repaired including the Small Nose Dent.

So due to a Church Bus accidentally backing into Canadamobile, my Canadamobile got a $1,400.00 Dollar Make Over.

 

Unfortunately, due to the Visible Damage on Canadamobile, I was Automatically Disqualified for the Custom Car Division at the Car Shaw and got Dead Last Position.
