BallaDoc Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Anyone know whether it's possible to get training in shillelagh fighting (Irish stick fighting) on the island?

BallaDoc Posted March 27, 2018 Author Posted March 27, 2018 Dear me, how disappointing. I guess there isn't any formal training on the IOM. The idea came to me while I was walking at the weekend and seeing the blackthorn trees in flower, I thought, "wouldn't it be nice to make myself a good old fashioned blackthorn shillelagh and learn how to use it?" Plus, my wife has been telling me I should get more exercise, so I thought I would surprise her by showing her what I can do with a knobbly stick.

I know there is a Thai Stick Fighting group on the IOM but the name escapes me. Obviously not exactly what you are looking for but close "enough".

I’m guessing she’s not looking to fight your nobbly stick
