I do love to see people and teams brought down to earth though. Not necessary mate. England have been brought down to Earth so often it doesn't shock or upset the English anymore. They are simply astonished when the team wins a match.
woolley Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 For anyone who hasn't had time to follow the tournament, here's the best bit.
the stinking enigma Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 This world cup has set the anti russian agenda-ists back big months if not years.
ans Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Nobody talking about my team, I think we're the low key second favourites behind Brazil now, given all the teams that have crashed out.
TheTeapot Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Villa aren't in it. Belgium pretty lucky tonight, or Japan unlucky, or both. It was nice to see a game with minimal diving and associated bullshit. Of course, next up Brazil.

They were my tip at the start of the tournament, I still think they might. Brazil's defence is very well organised though and that will be Belgium's real test.

It would certainly be most satisfying to see the back of that play-acting, pouting sack of ego-driven pathetic nonsense otherwise called Neymar.
Declan Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I'm more bothered by the culture of going down when a defender brushes against you, than by a bit of theatrics when someone stands on you. But of course Shearer and Lineker think that's all above board, so their hypocritical racist bias is painting normal Latin histrionics as bad, whereas pragmatic honest-to-goodness Anglo-Saxon cheating is applauded.
the stinking enigma Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Must say, i think the standard of refereeing has been better than that generally in the premier league.
