Are City nice to watch, or do they just make good highlights?

They remind me a little bit of the Spanish national team* between 2008-2010 when they dominated international football. They played some great football, scored some fantastic goals, but to watch a whole 90 minutes of trying to maintain 80% possession was just hard work!

*but not yet quite as bad as Spain; at least City actually use a striker which Spain often didn't!

They're better than the Spanish national team were, not just possession for the sake of it, but relentless pressure. Bernardo, KDB, Sterling, Sane, they pick up the ball and run straight at goal. No fear. As a football fan you can only admire them, they do play some incredible stuff.

Benteke scored against Arsenal last week.

He must have been flabbergasted along with everyone watching.

It was an accident, he's since apologised...

Many a true word. I haven't seen the goal in question, but you do see some spectacular own goals that were obviously unintentional and also some crazy scores for the right team that were just plain fortunate. I remember one that Scholes scored for United (I think against Liverpool), where the ball came to him in the penalty area and he swung his right foot at it and totally missed, but it ricocheted of his standing foot, totally wrongfooting the goalie and went in. Another one was Lescott for City where a corner came in and he wasn't even looking but it just bounced off his big daft head and went in.

They do indeed. It is a pleasure to watch the skill they have, combined with an incredible work rate. Watch how they swarm around the opposition to recover the ball on the rare occasions they lose it. Then watch United defenders allowing teams to run right through them while they watch. Depressing. I believe that anyone who says they don't rate City is simply jealous that their team doesn't play that way.

That's the key thing for City. Those players are all obviously stars, but they're not too full of themselves, they all understand the team comes first. Similar thing at Liverpool. You can bet the first thing either Sterling or van Dijk says when they get their player of the season award will be along the lines of 'this is not down to me, but the whole team', and that they'll actually mean it.

Anyone who says they don't rate City is lying or stupid. They got 100 points last season, pushing for 98 this. That is absurdly consistent, I'm just delighted Liverpool have given them a proper challenge. Finished 25 points behind them last season, that's an enormous improvement.

See, any normal team would be massively dispirited by an away 3-0 loss to Barcelona, the loss of twoof their best players and that shit result last night, but no. FUCKING HAVE SOME!!!
