Poor old Scotland, but go Japan!

The Quarter finals are going to be fun!

There was a poetic justice about the Scots threatening legal action if the game didn’t go ahead because of the typhoon, then the Japanese staging the game and blowing them away.

Not a huge rugby fan but I tune in when scotland play. First time I've seen japan play and have to say they were impressive handling offloads and speed of play was exceptional. Good luck to them.

 

As for the threat of legal action the Scots were right. The organisers when choosing the destination knew there was a possibility of typhoons yet had no back up plan. It's extremely amateurish and had scotland gone out due to those circumstances then it just makes a mockery of the tournament

Not really. The Typhoon was unexpected, outside peak typhoon period, the strongest in 58 years to hit that part of Japan and struck in a famously resilient country. And of course the game went ahead. Therefore, it would have taken even more extreme circumstances to cause cancellation.

In any case had that happened Scotland would have gone out because they didn't beat Ireland and Japan did. The typhoon would have cost them the opportunity to fix the situation but they were in that situation because of they weren't up to it.

Regardless of how strong the typhoon was it still showed up that tge give ring body had no plan b. Move the game back a day or to a different stadium without fans if need be.

Even though it's corrupt and should never have been awarded to them at least fifa has changed the dates in the next world cup in qatar to a cooler time of year.

The weather forecast was bad enough to cancel some games early but there was enough in the forecast to delay the decision for the Scotland game. In hindsight, the IRB (or whoever), made the correct calls out of a bad situasian.

It is pretty tense. England will be slightly disappointed with a 10 point half time lead.

Good play from England though. I’m sure NZ wanted to be in a stronger position. Little position little possession and losing set pieces. Go England.

Definitely good play, they've been excellent, NZ have barely had a sniff. You'd expect that to change 2nd half.
