Seriously impressive from England, just absolutely on it right from the start. Completely shut NZ down and pretty much dominated. That Itodji guy was a monster.

No England - Wales final then, SA just that little bit better.

Yes. It was a totally different match. Nothing like the class on display in England v NZ, but it was an almighty effort of bludgeoning, muscle sapping effort from both sides. England will have to play just as well technically next week to win, with an added helping of steel to push through that SA defence. Let's see if they turn up.

Do England look English enough for you? How about the other teams?

They look representative of the population unlike the Japan team. Japan is one of the most ethnically homogeneous societies in the world, but it is thinly represented in the team. It's about as Japanese as Jack Charlton's Ireland football team was Irish.

Really? Well I for one had no idea that there were so many Samoans, Fijians, New Zealanders, Australians and Americans in England. You should look into where England gets its best cricketers and footballers too.

Japan was traditionally one of the most ethnically homogeneous nations , but not so any more. In Japan 2% of all children registered Japanese at birth have at least one non-Japanese parent and 2% of the population are immigrants. Those numbers are growing.

Glacially slowly as far as change in Japan is concerned. It will be a long time before the population is representative of the rugby team. New Zealanders, Australians and Americans are ethnically predominantly the same stock as British a few generations on.

As for sports players in general, what is the point of playing under the auspices of nationality then if they're all ringers? Perhaps just run it like the Premier League where you buy in the perceived best talent.

Well one has to take into account the relative status of the beholder, so coming from Freggy, whatever it's supposed to mean, I take it as a compliment.
