Non-Believer Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Some projected financial figures that were released yesterday (Sky News) for the proposed new superleague; Each team would get an immediate £300M for "infrastructure improvements", essentially this is their "signing on" fee. The 12 would share an estimated £2.72BN in rights and marketing over the season. It was proposed that the 12 would distribute £345M back into the football "pyramid". Generosity itself.

This just shows you how much money is in it and how much seems to disappear away from the football clubs. Uefa are being held to ransom here because the showpiece clubs know they are being mugged off. I suspect this thing won't happen but it'll be a huge lever for reform of European competition and a much fairer chunk of cash staying away from Uefa and heading to the clubs that generate it.
Billy kettlefish Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Don't forget football fans of most, not all clubs are some of the most fickle going and after a period of time will go back and start supporting thier clubs again but perhaps English football mite just need a wake up call and move forward with some new exciting ideas to keep the BIG teams here. Just a thought. but if not kick them out of all domestic Cup competitions it mite give some of the smaller teams and supporters a chance of glory.
