If the gas does provide us some returns, we should copy the state of Texas under George Bush and use the money to fund solar and wind energy.

Exactly!  Why waste a resource when it can be put to good use and secure the islands renewable plan as well as fund health services.  The sad reality is that if it was used it would be paying off the mea loan, steam packet landing stage, govt pension liability.

Based on the climate survey defa put out they seem to be skewing the questions toward importing biofuel.

It’s been a question asked a few times at the hustings meetings by some of the eco idiots. Like we’d just leave a few billion pounds worth of tax revenue in the ground because we signed some stupid pledge to keep a bunch of fourteen year olds happy. As long as it’s done in the right way we’d be mad not to.

Exactly. They want the green power but have no answers on how we will fund it. This is exactly what Norway did, use fossil to fund green tech.

I am an Onchan voter, and I have read Rob Collister's manifesto.

Considering that it is such a weighty tome, one thing that struck me was that I could not find a single word about the dreadful mismanagement of major capital projects by the DoI, and consequent waste of public money, the need for much improved governance, accountabilty and transparency, and the overhaul of the senior ranks of the CS.

I know that Rob has been a Member of the DoI for the last year or so, but this is no reason to ignore this significant issue.

Just saying.......

Once you join the department gravy train your not allowed to criticise it.  He stopped asking questions in Tynwald straight after he was appointed to DOI.

He mentions that we need a children's commissioner but not his failings as children's champion

Peter karran called round yesterday, I used to be a fan but something smells awfully wrong with his campaigning for Willers.  Feels like he has sold his soul to the devil.  Baffling.
