You clearly know very little about professional cycling and as others have pointed out technological advancements are used in virtually every sport going.

OK say boxing gloves were introduced that delivered an electric shock ( taser type thing) when coming into contact with an opponent’s body.

I would call that an artificial aid.

You no doubt would call it a technological advancement in the evolution of the sport of boxing.

Personally I would prefer to see boxing banned as I find it pretty barbaric, however,  as @quilp has pointed out you are really struggling to justify your position.

No, adding a taser to a boxing glove would not be an advancement.  It would kill the sport entirely.  Since you brought it up though perhaps look at how technology is used to improve training techniques.

I assume you were also opposed to the introduction of boxing gloves, head guards and gum shields in boxing?

Wonder if your scruples and objections extend to you taking the little blue pills to enhance the experience for Mrs VoR?

No safety considerations in sport is an entirely different matter.

Awesome stage that. Just for a bit of perspective (for me), what in percentage terms is the gradient of Crellins Hill?

Not sure exactly for Crellins.  But 'Postmans Hill' on the Arrasey Road behind Glen Maye is the steepest road on the Island.  I know it's just over 20%

Is that the little blue valium, or the little blue viagra? I can see Mrs VoR appreciating the former more so than the latter.

Thanks. I'm not actually familiar with that hill though. Don't think I've seen a 20% in the Tour yet, 15% tops I think.

I think it's less.  Definitely shorter.  Put it this way, I can only just ride up Postmans on a road bike.  I can do LC without too much issue.
