Declan Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 It would be a Kinda Karma if the man who's ambition to be PM has unseated the last two PM's became the shortest reigning one since the fifties. Quote

That results in Johnson spluttering and spouting nonsense. He just does not know how to deal with her. It's a shame that Starmer can't seem to tap into that because he must have done so in the court room in the past. Whenever Ed Miliband stands in he's more effective than Starmer (although to be fair he has more experience). Quote

Mr. Sausages Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 People will be saying “this is the end of Johnson” in thirty years after the deeds to Buckingham Palace are found to be in his name following the mysterious death of King William. 1 1 Quote

Non-Believer Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 As was pointed out on the news tonight, there's not as yet been a peep of support for Johnson from Sunak who might be considered as one of the pretenders to the throne. Quote

One day too late but at least it gets him out of meeting with the media today. Although I see Jacob Rees-Mogg is now suggesting that the rules imposed at the time were too onerous on everyone... 🙈 Quote
The Phantom Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 I heard Starmer invited a load of people to a party, but nobody came.... 1 Quote
Declan Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 If the PM thought he was at work meeting when he saw the booze and nibbles, it makes you wonder what all his meetings are like. Quote
The Phantom Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 I reckon every current politician in power anywhere currently is going to be fighting for survival once the apocalypse is over. Think what you will about him and the Tories, but at the moment (fingers crossed) it looks like the UK is currently and going to be in a much better position than most countries in Europe, link that into Brexit however you wish. 1 1 Quote

In what way? Most European countries have had less deaths per head of population than the UK. I appreciate that you may have to take the numbers with a pinch of salt but certainly. The UK's GDP growth is forecast to be better that Europe's now but that appears to be a consequence of the UK suffering a bigger dip and not recovering as quickly. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-front/2021/12/08/a-most-unusual-recovery-how-the-us-rebound-from-covid-differs-from-rest-of-g7/ https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-economy-grows-06-sept-after-weak-summer-ons-2021-11-11/ Yes the UK may be slightly ahead with regard to vaccination but it does not seem to be massively different https://www.statista.com/statistics/1196071/covid-19-vaccination-rate-in-europe-by-country/ Quote
