ManxTaxPayer Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Has died. Only 52 years old. What a shame. Quote
The Old Git Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 As someone on twitter said (too early?) 52 is a pretty good innings for a leg spinner. 1 Quote
The Phantom Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I'd happily go, just after breaking up with Liz Hurley. Quote
Shake me up Judy Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 On the same day as Rod Marsh too. Two Aussie cricket legends in one day. Sad news. Quote

Got 99 twice in test cricket. Iconic cricketer - even though he played for the opposition you couldn’t help but like him. I remember him bowling Gatting with ‘the ball of the century’. We all thought ‘fuck, that was good’. Favourite story, which may not be true, is when someone said to him “Eh Warney, why are you so fat”, to which he replied “Every time I fuck your wife, she gives me a biscuit”. Classic sledging. Quote
littlebushy Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Fantastic cricketer. Complete shock when I read it. Wasn't that Merv Hughes Wrighty? Quote

littlebushy Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 It was a great line! According to Mr Google it was neither! Everytime I make love to your wife, she gives me a biscuit.” Yes, you heard that right. That was Zimbabwean bowler Eddo Brandes’ reply to Australia's Glenn McGrath when the latter asked him: “Why are you so fat? Quote
Shake me up Judy Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 It's a well travelled story whoever said it first. There's something special about the Aussies and cricket though and Shane Warne was second only to Bradman in the Australian national consciousness. What a loss to a wonderful nation, far too young. Shake me up Judy Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Loads of pics of the lovely Liz in the papers today. She's getting good exposure out of the Warney story, keeping her image and celebrity in the news. Quote
