Well why didn’t you explain that though? 😀

Your original post  on Sunday 3:56 pm came across as a bit cryptic for those of us unaware of your attendance at the said  car park and your experience of the events you now describe.

No matter. Hopefully you won’t have to go through that again 👍

It was hardly cryptic...

Ah... they lost.  Spain won.

With every bone in my body I am grateful that tonight I shall be in my little quiet abode and not in a car park somewhere in Spain. It with be loud tonight.

I don’t wish to labour the point but you posted this without any reference to your previous horrible Spanish car park experience.

So taking this in isolation it is cryptic, or at least a bit puzzling.

I’m not psychic! 🙂

FFS it wasn't in isolation.  It was clearly linked to the Women's World Cup final which Spain won.

It was clearly evident what Roxanne meant to anyone who can comprehend English.

Well it wasn’t was it?

As one who can comprehend English it was not clearly evident to me. ( that’s your cue to say obviously I can’t comprehend English)

If Rox had said she would rather be at home than in a Spanish bar on the night in question, that would be more easily understood.
It’s the car park reference that muddies the water for anyone ( meaning just about everyone) who wasn’t aware that Rox had been in a car park on the occasion of a previous Spanish victory.

Anyway bored with this now. Shall we move on?

Moving on.

This hooh haa surrounding the Spanish football man ( some executive) who kissed the captain of the winning ladies team on the mouth for half a second, and grabbed his crotch for a similar amount of time.

What d’ya reckon?

Both actions seemed to me to be totally inappropriate. If I were him I would be contrite and offer an unreserved apology.

Should he lose his job, apology or not?

It wasn't consensual, she was horrifed by it and has publicly said so. Most of the team have refused to play, ahem, under him and called for his head. He is defiant, refusing to resign. He'll go, and so he should. She should've just nutted him on camera...

So what's your take on it? @The Voice of Reason

The manager, while accepting his actions were out of order, asks why should he be removed just because he did what he did, playing it down and claiming without his coaching they'd never have been the Victors. As if it somehow excuses him.

These Latins, you know, renowned for their sometimes passionate ebullience and gesture...

The worst thing for me out of this is that he blamed her for it. Fairly classic sexual abuse practice following an assault.

He'll go.  He has to. If only to show others that what was once acceptable is no longer so.

I’ve not heard him blaming her for it. Be pretty hard to surely looking at the pictures.

Anyway yes not acceptable ( if it ever was). Coaching them to victory is irrelevant.

Hes certainly not helping himself.

A lot of unacceptable behaviour goes on in all walks of life. It’s the degree of unacceptability together with the level of contrition displayed that should determine the outcome.

I think for the second factor alone he should go.

Quilp is right. She should have nutted him.

Spanish FA chief blames player for World Cup kiss and shouts ‘I am not resigning!’ in chaotic press conference

Not only does he blame her, he turns himself into the victim.

The thing is, it's Spain. I can see how it might have happened. They are very passionate about everything. I can see why he would feel the need to show his passion in the moment and I could actually make an allowance for that.

His continued mistake however is that immediately after the female player declared she did not like it and did not give consent, he should have taken full responsibility and given a genuine apology. Instead, he has doubled and tripled down by blaming both her and all women for toxic feminism and that he is the victim of a witch-hunt.

It will be the end of him and it should be. There's no room for someone like this in his inlfluencial position who cannot recognise their own failings and take full responsibility for them. He could have shown himself to be the bigger person and come out of this well, but instead he has dug himself in and shown Spain and world who he really is, and who is is, isn't pleasant. Ego over dignity is never an attractive look.

And, as for your comment about it only being for a few seconds. The time is not important. If I grabbed your crotch without your permission it would not matter if I did it for a few seconds or if I hung on for ten minutes It's the act itself that is the issue.

I had an experience in a local bar five years ago where, on leaving, a young man without any prior notice grabbed one of my breasts. I was in complete shock that he would do such thing and told him in no uncertain circumstances what I thought of him for it.  He replied by laughing in my face, There have been many times since when I wished I'd just lifted my knee and crippled him. It still crosses my mind tbh. This is the kind of thing that happens to women, thankfully, less and less, but my point is that, int he moment, the incredulity of the action is so great that there is little time to do much else but be astounded.

So the Spanish FA now stating they plan to expose the player's "lies" about that kiss, whatever that means. Surely the evidence is there in the video?

I was going to make a joke around this but thought better of it.

Totally agree with you that this behaviour is disgraceful and an example of toxic masculinity.   It needs calling out not just by women but men too.

Spain really need to address this issue and the racism that is commonly seen at its football grounds.  The Spanish FA though don't seem to care and would prefer to blame everyone else.
