John Wright Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Last time I posted about bingeing was during lockdown, and it was Its a Sin, about a local lad, hiv and aids. Then I watched Heartstopper. This last fortnight I’ve watched all three series of London Kills, a very good police procedural, and series 2 of the Capture, ( both BBC1 ) topped off by Somewhere Boy on Ch4. Heartstopper on Netflix, a gay coming out story, with a 16 year old Manx actor lead. Somewhere Boy a dystopian vision of abuse through protection, exploring the world and himself Some stunning actors and acting, great story lines. Especially the ones making their big debuts. Joe Locke ( the Manx actor ) is one to watch, but the winner for me was Lewis Gribben, in Somewhere Boy. What a performance, the emotions, the situation. Only 22 or 23. Impressive. Already a string of credits. But this was a big, demanding, role. Not an easy watch. But the best TV of 2022. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/oct/16/somewhere-boy-review-channel-4-danny-lewis-gribben?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other 1 Quote
