I’m just posting to see if anyone is aware of any companies or individuals that re-proof wax jackets on the island. I’ve left a couple of jackets up in the attic over the winter and they had some slight mildew on them. I’ve given the jackets a good clean but I’d like to get them professionally cleaned and reproofed if possible. I’ve looked at sending them to a couple of companies in the UK but on further scrutiny of their websites, they very much look like scamming outfits, and one website definitely was. Thanks for any help regarding this.
The Phantom Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 DIY? It's not that difficult. You can buy the wax by itself. Give the jacket a wash, watch a youtube video on re-proofing and you've got yourself a nice little project one quiet afternoon.

Posted February 20, 2023 Author Posted February 20, 2023 Cheers Phantom I did re-wax an old Belstaff jacket years ago and it was an absolute hassle to be honest, made an absolute mess and not a particularly consistent finish which I would hope to get from a proper companies, and I’ve got three jackets I’d like to get done.
