Trinity 23 Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 Just wondering if people believe in Karma? I do, in a big way... A few 'incidents' that happened while I was travelling kinda made me see that there is something there... what's your view? *Note to whoever robbed Mo Beats' jacket saturday night keep an eye out dude, me guesses bad tidings are round the corner for you!!!*
Cret Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 I'd like to believe in it - I think it's a spiffing principle but sadly it doesn't seem to work very well as bad people seem to continue to get off scot free with bad stuff. Be nice if life's bad eggs did get all the comeuppance they deserve but it doesn't really seem to happen.
Grib Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 *Note to whoever robbed Mo Beats' jacket saturday night keep an eye out dude, me guesses bad tidings are round the corner for you!!!* Trinity, what was the jacket like?
Trinity 23 Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 I'm too blonde to remember details but it had car keys in the pocket and house keys...? Can get you a profile, if you see fit... mail me... Cret, don't get me wrong here, Karma (In my experience) only exists if you 'try to do the right thing' ALL of the time for All the people, in your own life.... It does not exist to impede the manouvers of the 'nasty' dark ones we have (/never) met, it fatefully crosses the paths of those who have wronged us'if' we haved played by the rules.... Sooooo dark Trin, chill de'gurl...........
Cret Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 I know what you mean, but I try my best to do the right thing by people all the time whether they're people I know or not. In my experience you don't reap what you sow though unfortunately. I'm not complaining too much though because despite the fact I don't think it really works I still try to treat people as I would have them treat me, and am fairly content in life anyway. For now.
Declan Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 Not really a believer in it myself. But this is a story I wrote based on a guy I met on the train to Heysham, who definitely did. Although, I wrote it a long time ago, and my writing style has improved since, it remains one of my favourites.... The Psychic Traveller
Grib Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 I enjoyed that. I felt a bit of the atmosphere of Jacob's Ladder in there somewhere.
Stavros Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 And wouldn’t it be great if when you did a good deed for someone it was repaid to you in kind. Like everytime I see a pretty girl and help her carry her shopping, I always get a slap when I ask her if there's any chance of a shag! Stav.
Observer Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 I believe in Karma, well my own version of it anyway, as I have never actually read the official version :-) I believe that what you put out into the world comes back to you sooner or later, be that good or bad energy. Somehow everything seems to come full circle.
Trinity 23 Posted August 2, 2004 Author Posted August 2, 2004 Nice work there Declan... Well I know that in 'my' life, or certainly over the past year or so, Karma seems to have played a huge part... at times where I have been 'a little mischievious' shall we say, I always end up paying the price with some little twist of fate... Then at other times, like when I found a brand spanking new phone someone had left a party at mine, I went out of my way to find out who's it was... turns out this stranger from the UK ended up at mine that night, left it behind then left the Island the next day... I still got the phone back to him, despite the fact I needed a new one... One week later, I lost my new phone up at the Riverside, at the end of the night I called it on me bro's moby only to have it answered by the lovely lady at the bar, someone actually handed it in! I'd love to know who, so that I could thank them! I was a lucky girl, I don't just put it down to luck though, I belive my earlier actions somehow helped my luck along!
Tee Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 I tried to karma but just made matters worse, some people are never pleased
Guest Rox Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 /me fick. What is this karma stuff then? I KNOW I can google it but I'd rather it was explained on here and then if there's another fick person who wants to post but can't cos they haven't got a clue what it is then maybe they can. Or something.
Tee Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's Fate/ destiny. /me sounding cleva cos of dictionary.com
access55 Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Just my 2p Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself works for me.
Jonty Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 What is this karma stuff then? It's the stuff, assisted by the sultry Elizabeth, that makes you believe you can see fairies, can eat lemons with a happy smile, and milk a cow. It's the stuff that lets you sing "Lloyd George knew my father" to a crowd of 2000. And... SLEEP.....
