Trinity 23 Posted August 2, 2004 Author Posted August 2, 2004 I know I cheated here and looked it up but it is hard to put into your own words... the following just about sums it up for me.... 1. Hinduism & Buddhism. The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny. 2. Fate; destiny. 3. Informal. A distinctive aura, atmosphere, or feeling: There's bad karma around the house today. I feel strongly, that what you give out to others in life, you do get back.... sometimes in very different ways... I could bore you for hours with tales of the Karma police getting even with various people I have met, I could also tell you about the bad things I have done, only to be in a situation a few days later wondering how things could end up biting 'me' on the arse in such a way.... IMHO your interactions with people create reactions... Hence, I ensure that all interactions with people are fair, honest and open as this, in my mind, helps bring me good karma...

Guest Rox Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Thanks all...... What goes around comes around kind of thing I guess - only with a existential feel to it. I like it. And I'll have whatever Jonty's been having.
puddy Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Bad things do seem to happen to bad people it's true, but there is far too much unfairness in the world for me to believe in the karma police. One persons bad luck (ie breaking a nail) wouldn't even get noticed by another person who might live with hardship and disabilities.

One persons bad luck (ie breaking a nail) wouldn't even get noticed by another person who might live with hardship and disabilities. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...I can't say that I woul look at breaking a bad nail as bad luck, unless obviously you had just paid £40 for new ones and it was one of those that broke... an example of getting back bad karma, I knew 2 lads living in a house in Vancouver, one went away for 2 months leaving his 'new friend' in charge of things. The week before Andrew was due back the house was mysteriously broken into and when I called in to see Braden he was mega shifty... The facts were only Andrews belongings had been stolen, Braden's fishing gear and Multi CD player had not moved, the window he claimed had been broken into was impossible for an adult to actually climb through, the police 'alledgedly' didn't want to try finger printing the place due to the cat that was there??? the long and short Braden was in debt with his ex and needed cash fast.... Enter the Karma police... Andrew could never prove his 'buddy' had robbed him but the 'KP' did, within one week alone Braden struck his thumb at work, seriously breaking it thus putting him out action for 6 weeks, was then stung by a wasp in the same hand forcing him back to hospital for a weekend stay then the place that was storing all his expensive furniture went and auctioned it all as he had forgotten to mail them the rent money for storage... It may seem to some that braden was unlucky but I knew deep down he was being repaid for ripping off a good mate...
the mo beats experience Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 *Note to whoever robbed Mo Beats' jacket saturday night keep an eye out dude, me guesses bad tidings are round the corner for you!!!* uhm, i left it at a party i didn't know i was at! i'm currently awaiting the karma police to come and take me away in a nice shiny padded white van!
purrrrrrrrrrry Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Karma tends to go hand-in-hand with reincarnation - in those circumstances, yes it makes perfect sense. The religions (wtf??!) that associate with karma and reincarnation usually do not believe in "Hell" either - and that just completes the picture for me as I can definately buy into the concept of "hell on earth" And that it differs from the "what goes around, comes around" ethos - I can see that kind of thing happens from day to day/week to week/ad infinitum, and is a kind of "instant karma" - but the full-on no-holds-barred stuff follows you on, wherever you may go Hmmm, I'm having a zebedee moment now.... Nite all xxx
Guest Rox Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 What is this karma stuff then? It's the stuff, assisted by the sultry Elizabeth, that makes you believe you can see fairies, can eat lemons with a happy smile, and milk a cow. It's the stuff that lets you sing "Lloyd George knew my father" to a crowd of 2000. And... SLEEP..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> O M G The penny has just dropped and I know what you are on about now. Big house behind the cliff? While haired old gentleman? Now that was the REAL Karma.
Jonty Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 When I was young, we went to see him as a family. Driving home on the Groudle Road after the show, the headlight fell off our van. My Dad stopped to pick it up ..... and along came Karma in his posh Austin, and he stopped and offered to help us. (The sultry Elizabeth just smiled from the passenger seat) My Dad was scared of being hypnotised and so he ran off into the bushes at the bottom of the Howstrake Golf Course And we never saw him again......
Guest Rox Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I never knew him in a 'professional' *capacity but I remember him sharing a cup of tea over the garden wall with a neighbour from time to time. He put his hand on my tummy once. I can't remember why now... but it obviously made an impression on me (on my mind not my tummy) *Joseph Karma. Hypnotist 'famous' during the 80's (?) for his cabaret performances at the Falcon Cliff Hotel and other places.
Jonty Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 In the 50's at the theatre at White City - anyone remember that? Later in the 60's at the Royalty Cinema and other large venues. He had thousands in every night and was a must see. He was only eclipsed later by the Grumbleweeds...... (as to the tummy incident - he was a bit of a pervert and was known to behave inappropriately by using his POWERS on attractive women - not all of them remembered, or remembered to make an official complaint.) Though how I know this as a 38 year old South African, God only knows....

For the record, Bradens jeep was robbed a week later... but I guess you dont want to know that!
Ripsaw Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 it displays what the fcuk the thread is about... if you don't like... I'm sensing bad karma there hun. I was *only* making an observation...
