Also, it reads as if 6 return journeys are taking 8 hours. Seems a bit strange. Where are they starting from and returning to?

Each round trip took 45 minutes, plus the lunch break for the driver takes you to 8 hours.

There’s definitely shenanigans going on in how they’re reporting revenue. I think they’re just reporting those who pay on the bus- 256x£1.90 is £486.40 plus £93.50 from the Go Saver.  The bus only ran weekends in the high summer, so call it 20 days in 2023. £579.90/20 is about £28.

There is revenue obtained from the Go Explore and Go Platinum tickets, and there should be a notional revenue from the OAP passes (there is in the UK). All of that totals up to just a fiver a day? Nah, not buying that.

Assuming an hour for lunch, that's five and a half hours a day. Also, 45 mins return where from?

Port st Mary to the Sound, with enough time to stop and come back.  They tend to wait a few minutes and not just handbrake turn it on the car park

The Govt, thru' MNH recieve rent from the Sound Cafe!

Does that mean there is an ongoing 'understood' contract to continue the bus service???

Would the rent be lower without the bus service???

It ran on a clockface hourly timetable, missing an hour for lunch, and there was waiting time at each end. It was about 20-25 minutes each way from Port Erin via PSM to the Sound.

7 hours not 8, though, and I still think they’re being disingenuous with the revenue.

Should just run one of their minibuses on it, there's space in the timetable to run an extra PSM to PE leg too, new old peoples home up Bradda, could be useful a little shuttle in the South if they gave it some thought.

better still the two commissioners Port st Mary and Port Erin should  club together and fund a mini bus for the summer , similar to what laxey commissioners did some years ago  and ran a mini bus from laxey shore to the Wheel several times a day ,  more chance of Cregneish and the sound being a success  I recon it would be popular  the mini bus could  also meet the train  , where have all the enterprising  people gone ? or does everything have to be provided at huge cost by Government,
