Max Power
Ireland is about to receive a huge corporation tax windfall as the EU has deemed its favourable treatment of Apple to be illegal, and wants tax paid at a rate they dictate! Ireland does not want this payment, as it threatens its position as a good place to do business. Is there anything that we can do to assist poor old Apple do you think? Albert Tatlock
We do have much to offer them...we're already doing a great job of getting rid of our reserves as fast as we can. They could always try employing 50% more civil servants than they need...it'll be a good start...works here.

Steve_Christian
Surely they fall under the mandatory tax of multinational enterprises at 15% regardless of where they are based (which both the IOM and Ireland have signed up to)? They need to go to Kenya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan or Nigeria - as they haven’t signed up.

Yeah but I guess they could HQ in Pakistan and agree $5bn and save themselves a few billion.

No, I think we stand a better chance of attracting Apple, don't you?
A fool and his money.....
Apple have literally more money than they could ever hope to spend, even after their outrageously well paid executives have been paid. There's absolutely no reason they can't pay tax the same as the rest of us.
