"The move will save the Department of Infrastructure’s Waste Management division between £35,000 and £50,000 each year and support the cross-Government drive to protect public funds. "

One might also consider what happens to paper that was sent for recycling. If it was used to create something useful, that useful thing will no longer be created.

And, as it is nearly Friday night:- They are saving £35,000 per year - how much are they loosing by not charging for car parking?

Spot on.

Its a shame beer doesn't come on prescription, but that is a different thread.

it kind of does , if you are an alcoholic the government give you even more benefits in the guise of disability benefit so you have more cash to go and spend on booze ,

All got sucked in by the green nonsense

Hold on a minute. The other week you told us all that you were costing a fleet of EV vehicles for your work?

why do you come on here as Crazy Dave and change your profile every other week and talk shit on every thread. You must have the tiniest of dicks.

The boat sails anyway and once in the UK, is it any different to the journeys taken by UK based waste disposal authorities to the recycling facilities?

True, but it sails here gets consumed and is sailed back then recycled creating double the carbon footprint.  Our new climate friendly solution, and totally not cost cutting, is to burn it.  Which has a bigger carbon footprint I wonder? I don't know the answer

No, I don't know either, but it seems to me that if the boat was only sailing to take recycling to the UK, that would be a massive carbon footprint.  But it sails anyway so you could argue that adding recycling is actually reducing the carbon footprint of everything else being carried.

I am costing a fleet of electric vehicles for work because the company has wanky “sustainability “ targets to meet, and because they are actually the most cost effective way to run a company car since the last stupid budget.  Nothing to do with thinking they are any good, although they do nearly all do 0-60 in under 6 seconds and hardly need any looking after.

I wouldn’t buy one with my own money in a million years, but on a lease as a fleet vehicles it’s a no brainer.

Plus, since you seem to be a bit hard of thinking, if we were in the UK I would expect all my paper to be recycled and there would probably be a benefit to it.

You really don’t come across as very bright.  Is everything in your world so black and white?  Ie you can’t see the benefit of one thing financially just because you think it’s a waste of time and money to recycle paper on a small rock in the Irish Sea? Mind blowing

Perhaps it would be better to prescribe rather than ban?

It was intentional waiting for the first person to pick it up and guessed it would be you
