Well they. Haven’t built any new houses for over 3 years.

What is being built in the centre of Willaston? It looks like a nice block of flats being built by Douglas Corpie.

Braddan Commissioners built a couple of blocks of apartments in Snugborough, replacing the housing at Cronkbourne Village. Whilst not housing they built the Roundhouse.

Isn’t it the case that they haven’t built any for the last three years BECAUSE everything is on hold while they look into setting up exactly what you suggest.  Ie, a housing association like in Jersey.

Don't the local authorities have to seek permission and borrow the money from DOI if they want to build social housing?

I think that it is to cover the not fit for purpose bungelow's that are currently used to house people who struggle with stairs and other such needs and will include a warden and a call system. And before you go on they are bunglow's what stairs check out the steps and paths needed to access them, even the one's by the school are only accessible from the rear.

I think most housing associations would tell you there's no such thing as affordable housing.

And it makes you wonder if anyone involved on this IOM board has spent time to visit and discuss how these housing associations actually work and how they can improve (or otherwise) the lives of people/tenants and relieve councils of the headache of administering one?

Yes Not all is rosy with Housing Associations.

Of course it will be different in the Isle of Man.
