Have recently moved house and renewed our broadband (FTTH)  contract with MT. At the previous place we had an MT supplied DGA4231 router used with BT Whole Home wifi discs to create mesh. To optimise performance I switched off DHCP on the router which then just acted as an Access Point.

In the new house MT supplied a new Technicolor DGA4135 router and an extender. I do not use the extender preferring to stick with the BT Whole Home mesh and get good coverage. I would like to replicate the previous set up (that performed better) so called MT to seek advice. They said they were unable to advise changing any settings.

Has anyone else done similar with any success?

I agree and assume it is just a case of disabling DHCP and the manually assigning IP addresses to all devices? I’m a bit cautious following MT’s warning about making changes.

There was a time when MT tech would talk you through the changes but now they just advise you to leave it alone, which is no help to you in this set of circumstances

If you put your router info into google you will find a manual for it. You should be able to affect these changes via the router ‘gateway’ using it’s IP address.

Everything is controlled by an on/off switch so, even if you get it wrong you should be able to revert back to the original settings. Take screenshots all the way through so, again, even if your new assigned IP addresses don’t work, you can take it back to the old settings.
