There was a bunch of (presumes illegal) immigrants rounded up at gunpoint in Douglas this morning yet not a sausage on any of the news outlets I wonder why that might be?
Because it didn't happen?

It’ll still take them hours to clean up the mess because of some div in a little shitty plane who can’t fly properly.
I don’t think flying was the issue here. It was a problem landing

I booked to Liverpool 2 weeks ago, one way in a couple of day's time, £26.50. Is there a forthcoming event that would cause the prices to be hiked?
Last week (for Max P) would have been in school holidays and end of May is the start of TT

Can you imagine what a crock of shit it would be if IoM govt did produce an online application?

People in England are kicking off as the price of renewing a passport has risen to £88 .50. on the Island it has risen to £100 the reason that has been given for our increase was to keep it in line with across. Am I missing something here ?
Yes, you are.
The £88.50 price is only if you apply online. Using a paper application is £100. IoM doesn't have an online application option, so you pay the same paper application cost

Tesco says it will create more than 100 jobs following its Shoprite buyout
Actual new jobs, or just rebranding ex-shoprite employees?

Ah, its the link span that's costing the extra 75 million!
And the associated infrastructure - baggage handling, marshalling yard, passenger check-in and waiting area

The investment, which is subject to the granting of appropriate permits and licenses, would include the addition of a new floating pontoon that would increase capacity and allow for the simultaneous berthing of two 300-metre ships and up to 7,000 passengers a day.
It would also feature waterfront retail and hospitality spaces.
Errrr hang on 25 million ? WTF have we bought ?
That's a floating potoon for disembarking/embarking foot passengers only. Totally different setup needed for a RO-RO operation

Prince Phillip was married to the queen for a while, what was he called. Oh yes prince Phillip.
That's the way it works - a woman married to a king becomes a queen. When a man marries a queen, he does not automatically become king.

There was a Queen, she died in 2022. This is just the Kings mistress coming for a jolly. Bet the great and the good thought they'd warrant Chaz in person.

Not sure as the report doesn't specify. But I believe it is product items.
Obviously if it was SKU it would give a higher figure . However it would also give a false and inflated product figure as every different pack of the same product would need it's own designated number. Eg if there was a consumer offer or added value pack etc etc .
10 tins of Heinz beans would be 10 items but only 1 SKU

according to the Food Marketing Institute, the average supermarket carries an estimated 31,530 items as of 2022
Is that 'items' or distinct SKUs?

I don't see the point of Teso doing a price check with Aldi. I thought the whole point of these things was to show that it was no cheaper at the other store, so there was no point in going there. As there isn't an Aldi here, why do the price check?

shoprites approach to Sainsburys stuff was UK retail price +30%
Sainsburys would have added their markup onto what they paid for it, and then Shoprite would have to pay shipping and add there own markup
