I'm now convinced that all films that could possibly be made have been made and the only option left is remakes. Sigh.
And just to prove me point...the latest remake...Footloose.
Oh dear God no.

Have you seen the 1980 (I think...) sci-fi re-imagining of the Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven called Battle Beyond the Stars?
I love the cheesy 80's styling and good showings from George Peppard (Hannibal from the orignal A-Team), Richard Thomas (from the Waltons) and John Saxon (Who interestingly played almost the exact same character in the Magnificent Seven) and the effects were created by a J. Cameron (you know Aliens, Terminator, Titanic, Avatar etc).
Now the effects are a bit naff when held up to the likes of Star Wars/Empire Strikes back but consindering they had a fraction of the budget they did resonably well.
Interesting side note: The score and space ship effects were used (scene for scene) in another chessy 80's Sci-Fi flick, Space Raiders
Loved both those films. Was the lizard type humanoid on the good or bad side in Battle Beyond the Stars? He reminds me of the lizard humanoid in The Last Starfighter and slightly less so in Ememy Mine. Lizard people where in vogue back then.

the very last movie I have seen was none other thanThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse and I have been waited so long for this movie not only me there are thousands of teens who been so interesting in the movie how ever after seen the movie I did have feel of it was been out of ordinary and now goes on to more fantasy than we have never expected.
I've never seen any of the Twilight movies despite being a fan of the vampire genre. Are they just teen movies or are they worth watching if your a bit older? I'm guessing its full of teenage angst which is putting me of watching it.

In the Loop.
Very funny apart from the last 10 minutes which was probably deliberately poignant.

Seen Knowing recently with Nic Cage. Average stuff with some dodgy FX and even dodgier lines and held together really badly by Cage's usual ham acting. The ending is LOL funny. I don't think they meant it to be.
I saw this last night. Thought the FX was very good and the ending thought provoking. Agree about Cage but you you know what your getting when he's in a movie.

Amazing creatures ... not sure about the bit at the end though ...
"There is certainly more work to be done in this system," she added. "We're quite excited about the direction this research might take us, and its implications."
