Moderator means fuck all it's not a job.

Not that I should have to explain to you, but... I lost my livelihood during this pandemic and all my savings and nearly lost my house, had to pivot and just starting to bounce back.

If you can't have a small laugh at the situation sometimes to get through, then you're dead inside.

Nothing to laugh about though is there.  If you are self employed ( like me) then you need a cushion to protect you in situations like this.what is hard to understand about future proofing your income. Taking the moral high ground does not pay the bills.

It’s a bit early for Dilli to be on the wine and iPad mixer. Must be the pubs are shut.

Not me being pathetic, is it. Howie asked us adults to act as such. Some people don’t understand simple requests.

I can't help but think HQ has built a huge narrative around us being 'COVID-19 free'. The government under his direction are encouraging and advertising new business and residents to relocate here. HQ appeared on UK national television advertising our 'COVID-19 free' status.

I can't help but think HQ may be putting the health of Island residents at risk rather than risk a red face.

This is potentially a serious situation.

A 'fall out' with an on Island service that could help us manage the pandemic better.

    A u-turn re the SP.

A, 'stay home if you want' comment with no other safety suggestions even though we have community cases with no idea where they have come from and, more importantly, where they have spread to.

Am I the only one to wonder if our CM's ego is seriously interfering in his ability to act in our best interests rather than the interests of the government?

In the small fish bowl that is Manx Forums, you are probably ok with that thought. In the real world though, you are a fish out of water. Just saying for reality.

The way there treating businesses on the Prom is criminal and you should be able to sue them or similiar . I have a friend with two businesses and properties down there and access to one is zero and no rate rebate or the likes . The footfall  there if you can even get close to the other property is not much better than zero and thats before you take in the lack of visitors . I feel for Marco big time as not sure I could keep my shit together in this sort of situation . Morally Government is killing businesses by incompetence and like most things they just dont give a toss .

Does any business have a legal right to access by the public. ?  You may own the building, but you don’t own the access. The Gov. pay for the access to your property.

Argh. It’s that time of night. It’s woken up.

yes, rules, legislation and regulations need scrutiny to try and prevent yet further examples of our islands population being infected by covid. It will undoubtedly happen, but it’s best that we at least try and keep it out as much as we can, no? If government departments or state owned companies don’t know what they’re doing or supposed to be doing, and the government themselves haven’t a clue what’s happening, as seems to be the case, then scrutiny is required and potentially an overhaul to make things better.

    Well done.

All good questions which I'm sure will remain resolutely unanswered.  They've managed to make a mess of other, much simpler, Covid regulations and their enforcement, so I'm not sure the details of this one will be found to be completely enforceable in the way they would like.

Does it really need scrutiny ? What’s the problem here ?

I see that Stu has been laid up again. I think his back's gone after swinging that bass around in the Railway, just like Hooky from New Order. He needs to take his strap up a few holes and remember he's an old rocker.

George filled in for him on the Late Show with some great tunes. Funny how George can always play what he likes whereas Stu is stuck with Brindley's Manx Radio's playlist.

    No he is not

That’s a lot of money to be paying out as rent. There should be a government run rent to buy scheme. A scheme like that would work for developers, government and the people. Rented accommodation people (sweeping statement alert) don’t tend their gardens or replace curtain hooks when they break, they bring down the tone of the neighbourhood, it’s not their fault, they just don’t know any better.

A bit confused to start with, then realised it was tongue in cheek.

Yes the first practice is always a struggle I think mainly due to still travelling over or making there way. Mind you lots of marshaling points have loads , ie Quarter Bridge and Top of Bray hill to name two. On the mountain bit thin on the ground early days . I have a couple of friends that marshal and fair play they just say put us where you need us .
