  1. Fastcraft future debate for Steam Packet.

With the Manannan making her final journeys across the Irish Sea for this year today (2 Nov), many ferry operators are debating whether the future lies with more modern conventional ferries. Running the Manannan is a considerably more expensive option for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company when compared to the Ben-My-Chree. And fastcraft are not able to operate over the winter months. Chief Executive Mark Woodward says the Steam Packet is far from alone in looking at the question of fastcraft viability:

  2. NATO planning 'rapid-deployment force' of 10,000 troops to counter Russia.

According to the Financial Times, the forces creation will be spearheaded by Britain and involve contributions from Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway, and the Netherlands. Canada is also interested in joining the group, but its not known what its final decision will be. Although no formal announcement has been made, British Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to declare its formation at the upcoming NATO summit in Wales on September 4th.

  3. IMO NATO should be disbanded. It was created to address a particular threat that has now gone in spite of the recent acts of a Barack Hussein. NATO is now part of the problem, not a potential solution to any.

What is now needed is a body to address the reemerging and rapidly growing threat of jihad.

I agree NATO should have ended with the demise of the Soviet block. Ukraine should be independent, not part of the EU, NATO or Russia, but Russia should be allowed to keep its use of leased facilities in Sevastopol and Crimea.

  4. The reason for the recent hysteria about Ukraine is because they had two bad defeats at the hands of pro Russian separatists. With Obama droning on about how Russia has supported the separatists, which they have, but he does seem a bit vague on the subject of Billions of Western money going to Ukraine.

  5. It might seem like a random link but if you consider the objectives of PNAC and compare what is happening today, it would seem nothing has changed. Even the Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama has ordered a Marines base in that well known troubled hot spot Australia.

  6. The deployment of Navy Aegis destroyers in the Asian-Pacific region, with MD interceptors on-board, ostensibly to protect against North Korean missile launches, gives the US greater ability to launch preemptive first-strike attacks on China. The US now has 30 ground-based MD interceptors deployed in South Korea. Many peace activists there maintain that the ultimate target of these systems is not North Korea, but China and Russia.Europian_Missile_Defense. 7. IDF's Gaza assault is to control Palestinian gas, avert Israeli energy crisis.

"Since the discovery of oil and gas in the Occupied Territories, resource competition has increasingly been at the heart of the conflict, motivated largely by Israel's increasing domestic energy woes."

If you are saying it blatant lies, then there will be no Gas which was discovered in 2000 off the Gaza coast, if there is Gas then its not lies.

  8. What a load of tripe. ANYTHING but admit that the bombardment of Israel by a bunch of terrorist scum eventually reached the point when the inclusion of significantly larger missiles simply had to be faced down.

Not only that but twists put on what had been allegedly said in order to line up with the story that the teller wanted to be heard.

Keep looking, you've got a lot more seeking to do and it would be best to look at truthful sources.

spook, by posting that link I wasn't suggesting that Israel is just after the Gas, I know they want the whole territory. The Gas is just the icing on the cake that the Lamestream media don't talk about.

  9. Toilet tax: no appeals allowed.

The Manx Utilities Authority has rejected the idea of allowing people to appeal against the toilet tax this year. In a statement, the organisation headed by Alf Cannan MHK says its board considered the request at a meeting earlier today. However, its now been decided no appeals will be heard and everybody who pays water rates will have to pay the £50 per property. It says its reviewing the charge and appeals process and says it will present options to the Treasury and the council of ministers.

  10. Public appeals against the new sewerage charge will be considered by the board of the Manx Utilities Authority today (23 May). The so-called toilet tax, a flat £50-per-household charge, caused controversy when it became law at the start of April. West Douglas member Chris Thomas, one of the MHKs who opposed its introduction, is encouraged there will be an appeals process but has questioned its impartiality:

    "Many dead' in Ukraine offensive."

Many pro-Russia rebels have been killed, injured and arrested in the Ukrainian government offensive in the eastern city of Sloviansk, interim president Oleksandr Turchynov has said. But, in a statement, he said the operation in the rebel-held city was not going as quickly as hoped. Earlier, rebels shot down two Ukrainian army helicopters, killing a pilot and a serviceman. Russia has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council."

  12. Looks like the IMF are applying financial pressure on western Ukraine to fight for control of east Ukraine, or risk not getting any bail out debt money.

In a staff report on the aid program, published Thursday, the IMF added that a change to eastern Ukraine's borders could force it to adjust its bailout. "The unfolding developments in the east and tense relations with Russia could severely disrupt bilateral trade and depress investment confidence for a considerable period of time, thus worsening the economic outlook," it said. "Should the central government lose effective control over the east, the program will need to be re-designed."
