I seem to remember this is a regular simon theme: what we say is irrelevent.
It's not a regular theme of mine; that what we say is irrelevant.
many people (including me) were not against taking action against Sadam - I, and almost everyone else (even Rumsfeld?), do object to how this policy aim was implemented, but that's a more complicated issue. That's revisionist; when those responsible for the policy and its implementation begin to blame the implementation of the policy for the failure of the policy.
(Whatever the policy was. Whatever the aims were.)

I equally distrust the govts of Iran, the US and Israel (and New Labour). I'm against all of them. None of them make any sense to me. They're all equally evil.
Thanks for reading to my internet forum opinion which won't make any difference.

One hour and ten minutes after taking the drug, with one man climbing a tree to feed the birds, the troop commander gave up, admitting that he could no longer control himself or his men. He himself then relapsed into laughter

Charlie Parker & Dizzy Gillespie
Johnny Cash - 'I Walk The Line'
Early TV - Johnny Cash - starts with 'I Walk The Line'
Bob Dylan - 'Like A Rolling Stone' - 1966
Early recording of Bowie doing - 'Space Oddity' - 1970
David Bowie - 'Station To Station' - from Christiane F
Un Chien Andalou (1928) Directed by Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel - evidence that the surrealists influenced all future TV advertising.

Enunciated, if we're being picky.
Annunciation refers to future events rather than news (recent events).
Okay. I thought it just meant important announcement, in the most general sense.
It certainly wasn't only the way in which the words were being said which seemed odd.

Just came across 3FM when i heard the strangest thing. I heard a guy on doing the news called Ed Hand or something, then he handed over to a reporter called Nick Turner but it was the first guy putting on a fake accent that sounded awful.
Plus the stories were about a week old. They must have someone off sick so out comes the work experience boy who has just read through the Examiner!
Just heard it again, this time with a news reader called something like May Flower! either it's a continuing joke or they have sacked their newsreaders and hired in something from london as they ain't local. maybe they send the londoners the courier/examiner and they read the news from it down the ISDN. All old stories again today.
Must be something strange going on in the world of local newscasting: the Manx Radio news at 1pm sounded like it was being specially annunciated for small children at bedtime.

I can confirm that Andy Wint was live today 10am-1pm
Via an ISDN link to his deejay castle home studio?

An interesting Observer article about William Eggleston who is one of my favorite photographers.
at 65, William Eggleston is perhaps the most innovative American photographer of the past 50 years whose unique style has transformed the way we look at the world. His influence on our visually led contemporary popular culture is now so pervasive that it goes unnoticed. In fashion shoots and films, advertising and art photography, Eggleston's everyday view of things, initially dismissed by critics in the mid-Seventies, is now the prevalent aesthetic. -
Given that Iris will take some time. I really do think that 'they' should be considering a temporary stop - gap solution.

Sorry for the title. This isn't a nice subject.
I know that we are supposed - bit by bit - to be getting a new sewage system for the whole island.
I don't know to what extent this is a problem in other parts of the island - but Ramsey bay is a disgrace.
I wonder - would it not be possible to install some sort of industrial scale macerator + filter? Could the waste collected not perhaps be burned of?

Most of the time they just go around and around and around, the same topics, ad nauseam.
I'm sure that very few of them actually ever use their cameras.

Slightly OT: Action Figure War Photography - via BoingBoing
I'm quite keen on this one. That's Action Man Vietnam era Tim Page on the right complete with Action Man Leica M4. Or maybe it's PJ Griffiths
Tim Page came to lecture us when I was at art college and took a few classes. He was friends with our course leader and was provided as a treat. They promised he'd be interesting and he certainly was. A bit of a nutter, but he certainly knew how to expose Kodakchrome properly. Almost instinctively. The Dennis Hopper character in 'Apocalypse Now' is based on him.

I'm a fan of Andreas Gursky (German) and William Eggleston (US)

Martin Parr - one of Britain's most interesting senior photographers. More or less invented British colour.
Peter Fraser - interesting British photographer
Peter Marlow - another excellent, well respected and well liked British photographer
Martin Parr and Peter Marlow are both Magnum photographers

Various blogs. Links to photographers and photography + other good links:
Conscientious - one of my daily visits. Often links to the kind of european landscape stuff which I find particularly interesting
flux - ditto
Expose - ditto
phototalk - doesn't work properly with Mozilla - but good
Other:
rec.photo.digital - via Google groups - endless debate with George Preddy - the house troll who is convinced that foveon sensors are the only way forward.
Luminous Landscape - mostly fairly traditional ... but lots of useful technique
Galleries:
The Photographer's Gallery - my favorite London gallery
Open Eye - the excellent gallery in Liverpool. Always well worth a visit. Website 'coming soon' - lol. I hope so. It's a good place.

He was good in 'Catch Me If You Can' too. Departed is excellent.
I was disappointed by Hot Fuzz. The reviews were all positive. I liked Shaun Of The Dead. Liked Spaced.
