But don’t ignore all the other dangers.
Priorities.
10 full easyJet total loss crashes a year or the very occasional Bradda Head?

In my experience of chasing debtors the coroners were absolutely useless. They didn’t used to be 30 years ago, but they gradually became more and more useless. It was ok getting execution through the small claims process but then it was a dead end.

Yes injuries caused by cyclists are rarer than those caused by cars, vans etc. It doesn’t take a genius to work out why.
As for the injuries being “small”, cyclists have killed pedestrians.
Tell a grieving husband that their dead wife, or the grieving parent that their dead child, has only suffered a small injury. If you stopped all cycling in the U.K. an average of 5 people would still be killed on the roads and 50-60 injured, some life changing, every single day.
Concentrate on the biggest danger on the roads first- 1

I pay insurance premiums as a car driver, home owner, dog owner (optional)etc I might not like paying my insurance premiums but don’t see them as some sort of punishment.
Whats the downside to insurance and registration of cycles?
As far as I can see the only downside is that cyclist have to pay out a few quid.
It’s a no brainer.
Third party cycle insurance is included in home insurance policies and covers everyone in the household

I was on the Sea Cat last Saturday and the sick bags were plentiful.
Was glad to be on the afternoon sailing. Quite calm apart from the bay

How many of the passengers were locals though, I wouldn't like to say but the number of people who got on and off at the small "local" halts might suggest that some are actually still using the trams as "transport - transport" rather than as a tourism attraction?
I sometimes use the tram to go from home to the Mines in Laxey as the once a day 13 bus service doesn't run anymore. Last time I was on the 13 the driver was reeling off all the names of the passengers on the route who'd died over the years. I asked to get off at the next stop 😂

Wow, we are agreed on something. It’s one of the reasons I maintain my Exec Club membership. Quiet space, and, as the limited booze offering is free the service doesn’t stop at the demarcation line..
Is the other reason the screaming children running around? I heard several announcements drifting up the stairs the other evening. I presume the staff will still fetch a drink from the bar? I’ve not bothered on last few trips

Just stick me in the grave my wife bought nearly 40 years ago when she was a student nurse. Well not that one, because they buried someone else in it by mistake, but the one they swapped it for. I was dragged up a catholic altar boy and I've been a happy atheist for many years now so the whole church thing would seemshypocritical. Would rather they spent the money on some food and drink as I'll be dead, but I won't know anything about it.

Wowsers. This is hot news

I knew it was warm yesterday but didn't think it was that hot that it was nearly the hottest day ever.
My little garden weather station recorded 30.5°. The Scottish weather guy at Ronaldsway said that it (Ronaldsway) wasn’t the warmest place on the island.

I actually maintained the traffic lights on York Road and Rosemount in the 70s. 😀 ...all relays then!
I miss the traffic light guy. Did he pack it in to run a cattery?

The taxi driver was also a grumpy sod, who doesn't accept cards.
I had one of those the other Friday so it seems accurate.

I've used GiffGaff for the UK, but I'm currently liking Smarty where I'm currently getting about 120GB of data per month.

You wouldn’t ask your networking or desktop support staff to write a website. It’d be a waste of your time and theirs.
You pay someone who knows how to, or train someone to. The latter takes time, energy and money
Bit like asking a sparky to do plumbing, he probably could, but the plumber would make a better job in less time.
Tynwald isn’t the government, it’s the parliament. I don’t think they have network and support staff. I did some work on the original Tynwald site and was initially a bit puzzled by the separation.

Don’t know how you can manage it. Lunch at the Marine is huge in my limited experience.

Great to see so many across this year, must have been nearly 70 cars in total. All were observed to be driving well and boosting the local economy.
A few of them are even returning in a few weeks with the Supercar visit.
It was an Absolutely fantastic sight seeing them all up at the grandstand
I was out in mine on Monday and ended up parking next to some of them at the Sound and later in Peel. I think I confused some as they thought I was part of their group. Most seem to be heading back that afternoon.

It was these
I ordered one, then you know who decided she wanted one. One arrived, one didn’t. A replacement was sent and that also didn’t arrive. Then there was the phone call from the nice lady in Guadeloupe and eventually both missing items arrived.

If a number you don’t recognise or a private number comes up on your phone do you answer the call? The only people I know who would are all pensioners.
As a retiree, but not yet a pensioner, I answer the phone to numbers I don’t recognise. They’ve all been genuine calls to my mobile (scammers seem to phone the landline). A recent one was from a lady in Guadeloupe wondering where the Isle of Man was as she had a package for me which she’d forward on. It had been dispatched from the USA and somehow ended up on a Mexican island.

That does my head in. It seems to only work if I’ve taken my glasses of but it often pops up a message and I have to put my glasses back on to read it and then try again.

Saw this on twitter earlier and one persons reply lead me to their writing on the dextrans subject. Didn’t read too much though. Sounds horrible
