  2. Priorities. 10 full easyJet total loss crashes a year or the very occasional Bradda Head?
  3. In my experience of chasing debtors the coroners were absolutely useless. They didn’t used to be 30 years ago, but they gradually became more and more useless. It was ok getting execution through the small claims process but then it was a dead end.
  4. If you stopped all cycling in the U.K. an average of 5 people would still be killed on the roads and 50-60 injured, some life changing, every single day. Concentrate on the biggest danger on the roads first
  5. Third party cycle insurance is included in home insurance policies and covers everyone in the household
  6. Was glad to be on the afternoon sailing. Quite calm apart from the bay
  7. I sometimes use the tram to go from home to the Mines in Laxey as the once a day 13 bus service doesn't run anymore. Last time I was on the 13 the driver was reeling off all the names of the passengers on the route who'd died over the years. I asked to get off at the next stop 😂
  8. Is the other reason the screaming children running around? I heard several announcements drifting up the stairs the other evening. I presume the staff will still fetch a drink from the bar? I’ve not bothered on last few trips
  9. Even that isn’t as hard as you’d think. “Beat the BOSS” phones can be quite small and apparently easily inserted.
  10. Just stick me in the grave my wife bought nearly 40 years ago when she was a student nurse. Well not that one, because they buried someone else in it by mistake, but the one they swapped it for. I was dragged up a catholic altar boy and I've been a happy atheist for many years now so the whole church thing would seemshypocritical. Would rather they spent the money on some food and drink as I'll be dead, but I won't know anything about it.
  11. My little garden weather station recorded 30.5°. The Scottish weather guy at Ronaldsway said that it (Ronaldsway) wasn’t the warmest place on the island.
  12. I miss the traffic light guy. Did he pack it in to run a cattery?
  13. I had one of those the other Friday so it seems accurate.
  14. And there's no mention on MDA getting planning first. Apparently.
  15. I've used GiffGaff for the UK, but I'm currently liking Smarty where I'm currently getting about 120GB of data per month.
  16. Tynwald isn’t the government, it’s the parliament. I don’t think they have network and support staff. I did some work on the original Tynwald site and was initially a bit puzzled by the separation.
  17. Don’t know how you can manage it. Lunch at the Marine is huge in my limited experience.
  18. I was out in mine on Monday and ended up parking next to some of them at the Sound and later in Peel. I think I confused some as they thought I was part of their group. Most seem to be heading back that afternoon.

It was these https://pocket-tripod.com I ordered one, then you know who decided she wanted one. One arrived, one didn’t. A replacement was sent and that also didn’t arrive. Then there was the phone call from the nice lady in Guadeloupe and eventually both missing items arrived.

    Scams

As a retiree, but not yet a pensioner, I answer the phone to numbers I don’t recognise. They’ve all been genuine calls to my mobile (scammers seem to phone the landline). A recent one was from a lady in Guadeloupe wondering where the Isle of Man was as she had a package for me which she’d forward on. It had been dispatched from the USA and somehow ended up on a Mexican island.

That does my head in. It seems to only work if I’ve taken my glasses of but it often pops up a message and I have to put my glasses back on to read it and then try again.

    Scams

Online banking seem to check the sort code and account number match the name of the person or company you’re paying. They generally report a match or close match for any new payments I’ve had to make
