Great to see all the Facebook comments on that story totally misunderstand how investments work and ignore the fact that that these charging points will generate a growing income for years to come.

Shame. Used to be a great place to go and get pissed when I was sixteen.

Looks like a new problem at Heysham. The boat is standed while they try and fix the starboard engine.
WHAT A WASTE OF MO....
Oh. It's the Ben on today. Now I am totally confused. I thought that never broke down.

If this is true , and can we’ll believe it is , says it all about what many of us suspect .
Needs looked at very closely and fully and a public report done……Quickly !!It is true, late nineties and I along with a couple of others were new in role and started discovering benefit overpayments due to miscalculations by people who had moved on.
After a couple of amounts being written off (in the tens of thousands) we were all taken into a meeting room and told in no uncertain terms the mistakes needed to stop.
When I pointed out the people in the room were finding rather than making the mistakes the SEO just repeated himself and that was that. No more errors reported

If my time in the DHSS as was is anything to go by then the errors will reduce now. Not because the errors aren't still being made but that people will be told to stop finding them.

It’s the boathouse in mooragh park not the boatyard. Please get your facts right before impacting good business!!
Ramsey is a shithole which is why everything is closing
Speaking of facts it is actually in Port St Mary

Great timing a bit like buying a boat and then deciding to alter the pier to accommodate it when it had arrived and they did have several years notice to get the job sorted.
Or like having a developer build a road but not having the funds to connect it up at one end

Those new buildings that have been passed are awful they do not fit in with the surrounding buildings at all. Is there any action on the Duke Street development it looked horrific the last time I was in Town which is a while ago.
Ah the old make the new stuff look like the shit they were chucking up cheaply over a century ago shout
It's been holding the Island back for decades.

It isn't possible to get around it.
After it was listed, there was a planning application submitted (and approved!) to redevelop the building, keeping the shell there. But the building is in such a state, that when they brought in the appropriate folks to implement that approved application, they realised that it wasn't safe to do so. Hence, the later application to demolish (which has been rejected by the Govt).
The building can't be knocked down, because of the heritage protection.
The building can't be used without knocking it down, because of the safety risks.
If anyone thinks they have an idea on what they can do, the property is available through Cowley Groves.
Would it be available on a short term basis (24 hours would do) to store a load of petrol and faulty electrical equipment I have clogging up the shed?

You wouldn't buy service station flowers to present to a queen would you. Like buying the crown jewels from Ratners.
Why even flowers. Get her something useful like a joint of beef or a Nintendo Switch

Realistically I'd agree with you. 99% of the time the water quality in Laxey is fine and I've never get sick from the water there. Peel I have several times and won't go in the water anymore.
It would be a bit shit though to leave Laxey with the ignominious position of being the only untreated sewage beach on the Island.
It could be renamed Cacksey and marketed on the nutritional benefits of turdy seawater.

Will one be expected to pay a gratuity? Say 10%?
More 10% in perpetuity than 10% gratuity

They are far too busy spending weeks doing the major thoroughfare that is Mount Gawne Road at the moment to be able to bother with roads people actually use.
Classic DoI using the budget before the start of April activity

Who still don't realise that the other 96% are now increasingly realising that the main purpose of the Budget is to maintain Govt terms and conditions for its masses.
Alf was even boasting on the radio earlier that Government pay had increased faster than the private sector.
Piss off eh Alf

Yes but he’s so bad he’s good if you know what I mean.
Its Thursday and Friday mornings that I switch off when Tiley ( who is normally quite OK) does that stupid Reynolds’ car thing with the “horse racing” nonsense. Actually having retuned on Thursday morning to another station I don’t go back to MR until Saturday afternoon when the 60’s show has finished. I would enjoy the music if that Chris ( ?) person would stick to that and stop the nonsense about Doris the tea lady, Roger the whatever. It really does insult the intelligence.
It seems to be having gone on for years now. Surely time to give it a rest
Hey now you can't knock Tiles on the dials
*goes on killing spree*

So budget day, plenty of scope on the Gammon Line for callers to comment about what has happened and as usual they spend ten minutes with Julian talking about bastard wind turbines.
Just shut the fuck up.

Nice 18% increase for Manx Radio this year I see. Must be compensating for the loss of Shoprite advertising

Pink book is up on the gov website now if anyone wants to see how little effort they are making to find cost savings.
