  1. Well where are all the SP knockers today, IOMSP have certainly shut a few up and proved a point, the Island cant facilitate two freight companies. Wonder if Graylaw will suck a bit of Ass now.
  2. The two ships being used by Mezeron are being advertised for vacant charter as from 19 Feb 2011 and that Mezeron are to make a statement later this morning, from Manx radio.
  3. Thats it Athol Street will go to the Dogs, Dandara will move in with more tacky flats
  4. 29 IOMSP jobs gone, cant see Mezeron employing local seamen at the agreed UK rates of pay
  5. And what about the 29 + jobs that have been lost ?
  6. The IOMSP are to make a statement later today Regarding cuts (MR)
  7. BA have just announced that fuel surcharges are to go up by £10
  8. Only because they don't make much sense. Most reasonable people expect to see additional charges applied at peak times. Pretty basic really. FFS! I'm not just talking about peak times. I'm talking about all year round. My Xmas crossing was just an example. BOOK EARLY Booking 3 months ahead is fairly early. 10. Essentially, you are suggesting the SPCO operate some kind of barter system. they tell you need they need £300 to caryr you at Christmas, you offer £200, you settle on £250 cos the SPCO knew in September that not all the places will have sold by mid-December, and the multi-million operation would be safer with the extra 250 quid in the bank already? I'm going to try that at Tesco. What! I'm not suggesting any kind of bartering system. I'm obviously not suggesting £200 is hugely important to the SP. It's how many lots of £200 that's important. I'm saying I'd travel over more often if the prices weren't so high and I think others may do also. The cumulative extra money that reasonable pricing might pull in could be significant. Is me posting my views upsetting you for some reason? Is this how Easyjet work. Maybe they think your a bad risk. Ive just checked with IOMSP for same dates. 6.5mt motorhiome plus 2 return £212
  11. Those prices probably give an indication that on those two days the boat is fairly full. It may come as a surprise to you but the airfaires are fairly high around those dates as well I'm going across on the 24th to the 29th of December, I'd much prefer to take a car but the SP want £300. Manx2 want £160. So I'm flying. A real nuisance not having a car, but I can't bring myself to pay the extra £140. The SP have got to be losing customers with their pricing policies. How much are the Taxis charging on the 24th on the IOM,UK Train Prices are also high on these dates, maybe its a Holiday period. Do you not think that the SP may have extra costs over the Xmas, what happens to the crews, do they stay on the boat Xmas day for fuck all.
  12. Lets hope that you are never in a situation were your job is being undercut by poverty wages then, then you wont even be able to afford to pay for the cheap and decent service. Chris there is only one answer from a Manxie FUCK YOU JACK IM OK what about the shipping company that started all this shit, are they not about to relocate to Newcastle paying many local staff off.
  13. What is your source for that? There are refrigerated containers on Kurkse & Kalana almost every day. They are the white Stobart containers with the fridges on the end! It was probably the trailer unit seen on the top deck the other evening... (Although I’m only assuming what ThankU saw) If Tesco have any sense, then they'll continue to throw the Racket the odd unit. And, if the Racket had any then they would also be playing the 'lets try and win it all back' game. On another note... What ever happened to the freebee '6th' voyage tickets from the Racket? It's been a while, but wasn't it something like one you've had 5 trips in a year you got the 6th free... Or have I got that wrong? Seeing as I travel on the SP every week ive noticed little change untill the past two weeks, more Tesco, M&S Shopshite being loaded. This week IOM Heysam ???? £1100-00 Hull Rotterdam Chilled one way £1900 plus vat Oostende Ramsgate bulk powder £1500-00 Ramsgate Oostende Chilled £1440 Calais Dover Sealed unit £1440 UK Derv £1.27 ltd Belgium 1-10 eutro lt
