  1. So any news about what's happening during the week?
  2. Doesnt that only apply to Sundays fligh though? ( ......7)?

  4. Anyone who spoke truth would have commanded respect. But someone who claimed to fly Airbuses for Aeroflot in his spare time despite having written in a magazine article that his eyesight precluded an aviation medical? Judge for yourself.
  5. Procedural control applies at both ends of the day. From opening to 9am, and after 1915 there is only one controller. So no radar vectors. This unfortunately leads to longer routings and can also lead to delay when multiple aircraft arrive and/or depart at the same time
  6. As that is where the disabled aircraft now resides.....
  7. As I've posted a couple of times before, I submitted a compensation claim last year for a cancelled flight. LGW-IOM May last year. The flight was cancelled as the aircraft was late arriving back into LGW ( around 1945 ish) after delays picked up during the day on European rotations. Probably mostly ATC slot delays but some weather exacerbating these. Being in the trade, I could prove that the aircraft COULD have flown the LGW-IOM leg, but there may have been difficulty in flying the return due to the IOM Airport latest possible cut-off of 2300. As they tend to, Easyjet decided not to risk the aircraft and crew getting stuck and cancelled both. I provided all this information first to EasyJet and was denied. I therefore took the claim to ADR (the independent resulution agency) : https://www.caa.co.uk/passengers/resolving-travel-problems/how-the-caa-can-help/alternative-dispute-resolution/ They studied my claim and I was still denied. It would seem that if any ATC slot delay is incurred or weather is a factor, even the independent resolution body is likely to support the airline. That's not to say don't try.... Good luck!
  8. See above. You'll be lucky to get anything even from a follow on independent claim
  9. That is the fact, but unfortunately they will still wriggle out of paying compensation as they will blame it on "exceptional circumstances" , namely the ATC slot delays they picked up earlier in the day. Its exactly what they did to me last year when returning LGW-IOM. I was able to produce all the data that clearly showed that they could have operated one way inbound with the possibility of having to cancel the IOM-LGW return, due to the late departure from LGW. They did however cancel both ways. I was refused compensation and even the independent claims association ruled in their favour.
  10. I'm sorry Nellie, but you've been misled. By studying Flightradar24 I guess. As you can see from the replay image below, the EZY to which you refer was showing "0ft" about a mile shy of the airport. Even common sense should tell you that wasn't likely. More relevant, the regulations which prevent pilots descending below a decision height (of a minimum of 200ft on that approach) without visual reference would also rule this out. And I can tell you without any doubt whatsoever it did not "actually manage to land". That sort of ridiculous uneducated comment is really unhelpful to the travelling public....
  11. ATR 72 crosswind limit is 28 kts wet, 35 kts dry.
  12. Southend, Norwich, wick, teesside, all cross runways are closed. Humberside is heavily restricted and very rarely used. Carlisle is to all intents and purposes closed to commercial traffic. Aldergrove and valley are both military or quasi military and different types of procedure apply. It is actually very rare to have an operational cross runway, but given the islands uniquely exposed to weather position probably worth having.
  13. London City Loganair Diverted to Liverpool
