Oh well
Back to square one
It is not Anne Shelton!
However, Tommy Connor (Lilli Marlene,English version) wrote a song called 'Rosaline'.at about that time.
Back to the search.
Thanks AT.
I shall certainly try the Anne Shelton site, although I'm starting to have doubts re. my memory. I can hear the song now, I'm quite sure of the words quoted, and the voice, if not Anne Shelton ,then very like.
and sorry, but wrong Silverback
For some little while now, I have been bugged by,I think, a song from the late 40's
Anne Shelton. singing 'Rosalein'. First verse starts 'It was down by the Rhine I met Rosalein'. Second starts 'Remember your soldiers sweet Rosalein, remember they marched far across the Rhine' -----and thats it.
I hope that one of you has a better memory than me.
Mick
Aaaaah well. No harm in trying.!
