  1. You edited that for spelling? Yeah, 'not wash her mange' seemed a bit crude!
  2. No, not on a first date or any other date to be honest, quite disgusting. Might just as well ask the good lady in question to not wash her minge for a week prior to the date.
  3. Not quite sure what I was expecting as a reposte but that wasn't it.
  4. Well tbf you're hardly above such behavior yourself when it suits you.
  5. It was Declan 'pointing fingers' at my (and a few others) apparent behavior that kick started this latest little round of 'debate'
  6. I wouldn't hold your breath Neil, if you're not one of "the gang'' who regard themselves as intellectually and morally superior then you have no place in their tight knit little clique. LC handily enough put up a link a few posts back to a thread where I appeared on a youTube clip, and for no apparent reason proceeded on a sarcasm laden little masterpiece regarding the size of my gonads. Didn't bother me in the slightest, I'm a big boy now I can take it but it added nothing to the thread and was just 'playing the man'. Just a pity Declan, Chinahand et al were not a little more consistent in their criticisms. Oh wait, I forgot, I'm not one of the in crowd. There now follows the sound of me getting over it!
  7. There, corrected for accuracy! Anyhoo, bored now so off to disrupt a different thread.
  8. I shall continue to state an opinion on threads/posts that I disagree or agree with, isn't that the point? Are you going to continue to get upset over threads/posts that you could ignore? If you are that's fine btw, it's entirely your prerogative.
  9. Of course you have a right to your opinion, just as I do, that's the point, but then I'm not the one getting all prissy about it. And if it's your opinion that ''you and others are wrecking perfectly ok, uncontroversial threads for no reason'' then that's fine also, though I'm sure it's not everyone's opinion. I've not even looked at the Free Jazz thread so can't help you there I'm afraid. Let me just reiterate, if somebody put's up (a) post/s that in my opinion are self serving, attention seeking, bang out of order, just plain wrong etc etc... then I will challenge them, just as I expect other posters to do the same to me (and that's fine), I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to make those posts in the first place, just that sometimes I'm going to post my take on it (and will continue to do so.
  10. It means (in this case) last time I checked you're not the forum policeman. LC often put's up controversial posts that others disagree with and as far as I'm aware we're allowed to say so. If that upsets you there's always the 'ignore' option.
  11. Yeah, you need to get over your self.
  12. Err..... because we are entitled to make our feelings known (free speech on a public forum in a democratic society). LC posts stuff mainly for reaction, he got one so no point in bleating about it now.
  13. Even cheaper, just stick your lips in a beehive.
  14. Anyone remember (or mentioned) local band Sorcerer? Think it was one of Colin Hinds' last local outings before departing for ventures new. Top band, they played the Douglas Head a few times, still remember Shaun the drummer and his leopard print pants!
  15. Would that be the Central at the bottom of Broadway? If so that was a great venue for live pub bands. The music room had a sort of amphitheater type thing going on. Great atmosphere during TT.
  16. I remember watching the prom gig, it was pissing it down. By the time Hawkwind made an appearance it was dark cold and wet and most people had decided they'd be better off in a warm dry pub somewhere. Those that were left were huddled under the villa arcade roof on the opposite side of the prom. The compere was trying to inject some atmosphere by continually shouting '' make some noise so we can get the boys onstage''. Eventually ''the boys'' (who at the time to us seemed more like ''the wet old men'') came on and played a very short and unenthusiastic set. Looking back can't say as I blame them really. On a more personal note, the band I was playing in played the very first street party gig on the Daily Star stage at the bottom of Broadway. The weather was great, the whole area was a sea of enthusiastic faces and best of all we were treated to cans of free cold beer served by Daily Star girls
  17. Just scooped this from the web, list of Hawkwind gigs includes Isle Of Man Summerland Complex 04.06.1994 Sat BR/DA/CH Isle Of Man Promenade 05.06.1994 Sun BR/DA/CH
  18. Yeah, now you mention I think your right, t'was Summerland rather than the Lido. My bad.
  19. Yes, they have, during TT in the 90's as I recall. They did a night at the Lido (maybe two) and also played a set on the outside stage at the bottom of Broadway when the South prom used to be closed of for entertainment.
  20. I think your recent and sudden return from the dead caught many of us on the hop!
  21. I think the guitarist is Docker (Paul Daugherty), it would make sense because as I remember it Chris Norman recorded a track with Black Riders when Docker was the guitarist.
