  1. For anyone interested, this links directly to recent posts in the other thread: https://www.manxforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/70539-banning-traffic-from-towns/page/10/#comments
  2. The Port Soderick Herald Posted 6 hours ago Unlikely the one I’ve seen seems to be of his own BMW i3 parked illegally in a pedestrian zone.
  3. Interesting behaviour by DBC's Mr Councillor Frank Schuengel (aka Amadeus and co-moderator of these forums) Amadeus (Frank Schuengel) Veteran: Read as far as “unelected”. You’re on mute now. Bye. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cassie2: 21 minutes ago, Amadeus said: Read as far as “unelected”. You’re on mute now. Bye. Is that also a democratic German style thing or what? You are the long-serving and Senior Admin of Local supposed Discussion Forums but you seem to not be cut out for that role. Maybe you have real mental issues and if so that should be addressed in your own best interests.

  5. But you did park there. So you, a DBC Councillor (although unelected by any ratepayers) and as such one of just 12 representative of the people of Douglas admit that you know that a traffic order for that area is already in place but nonetheless you think that exploiting any loophole is just fine. What a lovely representative of the people. How very nice. Is that also how its done in Germany - you and fellow German Falk Horning have compared Germany very favourably to here in regard to other matters such as recycling and refuse collections so pray do tell us all just how far you (1/6th of the entire Douglas Council) wish to see this lovely island and its society further 'Germanised'? Or better still, try and accept that you have many more detractors than supporters and just shut the f**k up. I know what I think of all of your bullsh*t.
  6. You are right. I am not remotely interested in anything that someone like you says. Nothing at all. I'll repost here a recent post by Karel Ver Elst the Admin of: https://www.facebook.com/groups/940207443613790 Karel Ver Elst Admin ....I would love to send the Council the list but doing so will effectively bring a close to the petition and it remains one of the few avenues whereby residents can voice their opposition. Although about 2000 people have signed, this represents less than 10% of the population of Douglas. When I speak to people randomly I know that the majority are appalled by the halving in the frequency of general waste collections. Moreover, the council can easily view the numbers on the online petition themselves. It is not up to them to dictate the format and manner in which opposition can be expressed. Most importantly, even though most people wouldn’t mind their name being disclosed to the Council, I am acutely aware that many people who have signed are concerned that they may be victimised as a result. Many of the petitioners work for the council or are dependent on the Council for housing. It would not be fair to them to disclose their personal particulars to a Council that is largely unelected (the leader of the Council got in with zero votes and many of the others with just a few hundred votes). This Council has shown that it does not care about the residents and is driven purely by the ideology of a very small minority. They are more than happy to use all the money of the residents to further their own objectives with little or no regard for the residents.
  7. The evil (for that is what it is) is far more deep seated than that of course Manxman1234. Immodestly, I am going to quote myself from much higher up this thread yesterday: ''Douglas Borough Council (DBC) is all too often very much anti the public whom they are meant to be there to represent...... The local people as consumers always seem to hold absolutely no relevance, no importance and no interest to Douglas Borough Council................... Far too often they are arrogant, smug, incompetent and unfit for purpose organisations - as virtually everyone knows except apparently themselves. Or maybe they do know but just don't give a sh*t.
  8. So says you, Cllr. Frank Schuengel. Most ironic given that you are one of just 12 Councillors in the island's capital Douglas whose refuse policies, spendthrift ways and 10% rates increases are all felt by many as the biggest national disgrace.
  9. Thanks. Amended appropriately now. DBC has "form" for major land grabs from Braddan. See: DouglasExtensionofBoundariesAct1985.pdf
  10. Douglas Borough Council (DBC) is all too often very much anti the public whom they are meant to be there to represent. They would still be able to charge the big rates up at the big business parks if DBC got the boundaries extended to include them as they most certainly have long wanted. And not forgetting the negativity and obstructionism of the IOMG Planning Department and the IOM Chamber of (No)Commerce. The local people as consumers always seem to hold absolutely no relevance, no importance and no interest to Douglas Borough Council nor the IOM Government. Far too often they are arrogant, smug, incompetent and unfit for purpose organisations - as virtually everyone knows except apparently themselves. Or maybe they do know but just don't give a sh*t.
  11. So even a small tin of own brand baked beans has increased by £2 in the past 10 weeks. Really..... And the other options of Shoprite and the Coop are so very much cheaper than Tesco aren't they And they have such superior products to Tesco don't they And they have many more and far bigger promotional deals than Tesco don't they And they have a far bigger selection than Tesco don't they. And they have an island wide delivery service don't they. Yeah, I must have missed all that somehow.
  12. Cancelled because the weather is too good?! Or because their ATR-72s here are a crock of unreliable ***t?
  13. People using 'other smaller airports' usually have more, and more frequent, alternative means of transport. Comparisons with failures elsewhere are in in any case abhorrent. They should not have any bearing on what is suitable and appropriate for the Isle of Man. But you are in effect saying that it's just fine because sh*t happens elsewhere too. You clearly want us all to just suck-it up and shut-up. And that's typical of the problems here and why things are where they are in most key matters from the Prom to the Liverpool Terminal, from the Glover and Ranson debacles to the multiple aspects of the Airport mega failings. But thanks for your excellent insights, as always.
  14. I did not in fact miss that but many congratulations on that news too. Let's hope nobody will miss your, and Falk Horning's, sterling efforts at more Germany type policies in a very non-German Manx setting - as you have referred to in support of their justification and commented on so very favourably. Specifically in the matter of DBC's mega bins collection policy change. And its endless debacles. Yes indeed. Congratulations certainly must be in order - so very well done you. Lest anyone forgets.
  15. Good. Accepted of course and thanks.
