Of course opening the borders will help, who do you think stays in the hotels , holiday cottages etc ? It’s not locals !! why do you think Jersey are reopening borders and Guernsey trial for 7 days ,it’s too encourage travel

The issue for me is that IOM government don't seem to have a plan for borders reopening and everyone else does, Jersey reopening, Guernsey are trying a trial with 7 days isolation, Ireland have a plan. Not everyone agrees with the others plans but they have one and in fact 69% of those surveyed in Jersey support borders reopening. why can't we try the 7 days isolation plan ?

They have just announced that a third of pilots are being made redundant so routes are being reviewed and they won’t just turn the Iom to Liverpool route back on when Howie decides he wants it back. the concern for all islands is loss of vital air routes for business, domestic and international tourism in and out

Very strange, some of the staff are enjoying being at home & doing as little as possible so obviously trying all the tricks to stay there. all of a sudden they have discovered lots of vulnerable staff they didn’t have before, bit like the teachers, civil service and anywhere they get full pay!!!

I think you will find that they are using these as the test for 7 days isolation only and if test negative you can go out. as I mentioned every one has a plan to move on except IOM but tossers like tea pot and his sock puppet Neil down want no plans

There’s an awful lot of paranoid nonsense spouted on here!! isle of man will be isolated soon as other crown dependencies move on. Airlines will have planes allocated by the time we want them back. City already gone, how many more routes will we lose

Howie was asked this today and sad we monitor other islands and if they have something that works we will consider it etc. why can't IOM come up with something different like Jersey & Guernsey are doing?

Everyone is preparing for second wave, hospitals, food suppliers, PPE suppliers etc and everyone is hoping that one won't come. Bound to be some cases everywhere as lockdown long term is not an option.

Possibly will, do everyone who wants could just get ferry or plane to U.K. without restrictions. i would also expect Jersey/ Guernsey to allow ferry between them soon

Has anyone seen the roadmap on borders reopening that Howie said would be published this week? He said he hops to agree we go to level 4 next week which is the unrestricted travel with 14 days isolation when you return.

Now you can go & come back without permission as long as self isolation. Just follow the Jersey vips & nip out for a meal etc!!

Looks like we will be moving to level 4 on borders next Thursday according to Howie which means iom residents can travel off island unrestricted as long as you quarantine for 14 days on return. No testing for Guernsey travel to & from or quarantine.
