  1. He is an employee of H&B . Possibly why he is so passionate about it
  2. Isn’t there a local councillor on H&B books, who likes to close roads out side H&B pubs, at the expense of other already established Sports bars like Jaks or 1886
  3. New Ramsey Tesco express looks great. Unfortunately it’s stocked to be multiple the sales it’s capable of achieving. more reduced to clear than normal sales. Will give it 18 months unless keeping as a loss maker
  4. The price charged on the till is higher than it was a week ago 🙄
  5. It’s a hospitality business where customers are an after thought, if they only put customers first they would grow that business, I know dozen of people who will go around Douglas and avoid Brewery pubs at all cost and only support free houses. Bucknals are still trading although small in comparison and Agrimark used to do kegs although not sure if they still do.
  6. Possibly one of the biggest factors in the decline of hospitality on island is H&B. Places like Peel with no H&B pubs seem to always be busy
  7. H&B sneaking in first of their pre TT rises, and to be closely followed by their min wage rise
  8. Exactly this especially pub staff heading home, a lot won’t have disposable income for a car and will rely on taxis, making it even more challenging for hospitality sector to recruit
  9. Agree, although what will happen is people leave pubs hour earlier people leave at same time and get last bus home more people just stay at home it’s appears from Facebook lot hard working taxi drivers don’t want this change, although also to be fair they not had a raise in a whilst
  10. I’ve always thought what’s raised on island stays on island. the rebate is for items purchased online/UK where Vat is charged at Source.
  11. I’m genuinely confused on this one whats paid to HMRC? VAT on island is paid to IOM custom and excise? fuel duty on island is paid to IOM custom and excise? income tax is paid to iom tax office ?
  12. What taxes are not Manx? vat raised locally is, income tax is and so is fuel duty
  13. You know that, and I know that, unfortunately those in charge are clueless. will sadly keep more people at home on on busses
  14. Except for Goverment taking 20% of the fair in VAT, a massive slice in fuel duty, and income tax off the drives. higher the fair, the higher the government ££
