  1. I’ve always gone to Lake road approximately every 4/5 weeks for a large shop used shoprite and coop for “bits” but was hoping I could still do same but better prices when Tesco came
  2. I understand an express store is slightly dearer, however not a lot off choice in Castletown store unless you want ready meals pizza burgers and sandwiches , I still need to go to lake road for things I can’t get. Very little own brand . in shoprite they did have Sainsbury’s own brand ie-1 example marmalade just over £1 same as Tesco , in express choice of 1 Robinsons £2.20 there isn’t a butcher in Castletown now there’s an opening there to sell meat. They had joints of meat there in December that flew of the shelves so if you’re not mobile either because of ill health or financial reasons have to live on junk food at a high cost an odd whole chicken is there but only chicken breasts/mince/lamb steaks and sausage Plenty of fruit and veg Hopefully when Port Erin reopens they will have better selection I don’t use convenient stores except for an odd thing as they are expensive although s&s do have some coop items
  3. Tesco spreadable butter £2.09 in Lake Road £2.40 in Castletown 39p dearer 3chicks egg whites £3.70 in Lake Road £4.20 in Castletown 50p dearer bananas 30p each Castletown opposed to 85p for a bunch 4/5/6 depending on size in Lake road lack of own brand items too Was so pleased Tesco bought shoprite but feel disappointed now . yes it’s an express so slightly dearer but as quoted above quite a lot Too many ready meals
  4. A man is walking 100 miles around the island on the coastal paths to raise money for Isle Listen in memory of his sister who died and didn’t get the help she needed . 5. I got a letter from Co-op last month they won’t insure Isle of Man or channels islands for car insurance anymore . However my house insurance renewal with them has just arrived
