  1. I wish you well BYE BYE you poor thing you have my sympathy.
  2. Sorry I can't put up this BYE I'm on X and put up with far worse this rubbish. You are insular many on here lack humanity. Good God I thought the UK was bad. Won't be back. Thank God I have real friends who are decent reasonable people on the island. A lot of you on here deserve what you get. Btw the way where is the moderation on this site none as far as I see Bye.
  3. Well I apologise but if some one is going through a mental crisis that you feel is abusive and beyond you why not refer them to someone who maybe can help? Thats all I'm saying.
  4. I agree with that.
  5. No but if they confide in you revealing stuff maybe they have never revealed then that means they trust you they believe you will listen and help? Surely it is human nature if can help you will and if not you point them in right direction? Though my daughter has Bipolar. But mental health is complex at all levels. A bit of compassion goes a long way.
  6. I would have thought you being an old pal an all he/she felt safe trusted you be able to "spill their guts" obviously not, because you have taken such offence at their actions. Do you appreciate hard it is to spill "your guts" and this person felt they could unburden themselves, They had faith in you believed you were a true friend, so felt confident in telling you how they felt/feeling. People with trauma don't just unload to anyone they do it with people they trust. Your not really a friend, sorry but you're not.
  7. Contributory Benefits that I paid for a bit like State Pension.. My husband however does work 6 days a week delivering food across the island. Obviously my benefits would be contrbutory because if they were means tested I wouldn't get them. Really poor.
  8. My final pay was £6834.86 per month on finishing work, sometimes it was more sometimes it was less depending on which employer was paying me for the different hrs worked, as I worked for Liverpool City Council, Educational Dept at Riverside College, NACAB (National Assoc of Citizens Advice Bureaux) did Freelance Legal Advice for Shelter was also a Magistrate . I said a few thousand as encompassing phrase. Nothing more nothing less. Didn't think it would be so scrutinised. I guess you want to see my P-60 from that time too?
  9. Thank you. And yes I totally agree with you. When you lose your job through disability there is no compassion, no sympathy. I went from a few thousand pound wages every month to at the time to £460 per month I became bankrupt. And no one cared. Awful mean spirited policies. Until you go through it yourself no knows how difficult it is, how ashamed you are to tell people you don't work because you are disabled. Many just assuming you are a fraud or pulling the wool. And woe betide if you look smart and take care of yourself, I heard many saying "She doesn't look very ill." They forget It has took me 3 hrs to get washed and dress. But it something as the disabled we have to put with. Unfortunately.
  10. Of course it is. MS does not get better, RA does not get better Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis does not get better 25 yrs ago I was told I need hip replacements but I was too young Now I have severe hip impingement nerve damage and ossification, they now decide that I need it doing but now I have health issues that will make the procedures difficult and potentially fatal. When you are disabled you are let down by Govts, Benefits Agencies and the Health Service.
  11. Thousands are kicked off disability benefits every year, all benefits are stopped, you get nothing, it's a long arduous process to getting that benefit back. In the UK it takes 18 mths or more for your appeal to get heard in the meantime you have no money coming in. 500 million was spent on medical assessments. Many assessments not carried out by doctors, but carried out by midwives and nurses. My last assessment in the UK cancelled 3 times because there wasn't anyone qualified enough to assess me. In the end it was cancelled all together. You ask why am I bothered? I am bothered because I am put under tremendous pressure and stress knowing that I could be kicked off benefits and face financial hardship seriously even the most disabled get kicked off benefits. And also that I was medically retired by my employers, my pension medically retired me, both knew I would never work again, and yet SSD who are unqualified question my disabilities
  12. I'd be interested to know how someone knows that people walking around town are claiming disability benefits??? Banker must be psychic.
  13. But don't you see saying what you have lumps us all together all sick and disabled get branded the same we are all scroungers we are all layabouts we are all looking for a handout and that's why everyone who tries to claim has to go thru the whole abysmal assessments in order to try and trip up the frauds. My argument has always been where there is long term history of people with degenerative diseases, that all medically trained people will know is that these illnesses only get worse with time unless miracle cures are found. For example why here have I been awarded DLA for 3 yrs?? Am I going to get better in 3 yrs from everything I have wrong? No so what is the point of paying doctors over and over again to assess me?? I thought the IOM had sparse funds but they can afford to pay doctors to do pointless assessments!
  14. £138 per week makes life easy not really particularly when you worked paid class 1 NI and paid the upper rate of tax and had earnings 12 yrs ago of £85k and now you are disabled and on this pittance and merely existing. There's nothing easy about it.
  15. Do you care to back that up with actual statistics and facts?? Or have you been reading the Daily Mail benefit fraud 2.4% in the UK. Btw have you ever tried to claim disability benefits? In the UK it is downright demeaning and humiliating the assessments are disgraceful. You can have all the specialists reports from hospitals and clinics and you can still be refused. I take 38 tablets a day, have MS, Diabetes, Ischemic Heart disease, Asthma, Copd, Chronic Kidney Disease, Forestier's Disease, and Urinary incontinence and now need both hips and knees replaced. In UK I got DLA for life when it changed to PIP I was awarded it for 3 years. When we came here I was refused point blank I had to fight to get it.
