TerryMcCann
Yes I am a fool and have been parted with my money for an iphone. It's ace and when I am surfing on wi-fi it is fantastic but I would also like to set up mobile internet on Sure. Has anyone managed to achieve this yet and if so what are the settings? Cheers

TerryMcCann
Thanks. It's more where to enter the settings and whether they actually will work on an iphone though. I'm bolloxed if I know how to do it

immortalpuppet
hmmm seems easy enough: Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Network" > "EDGE" 3 things to enter 1. APN - wap 2. Username - leave blank 3. Password - leave blank You might have a bit more work to do if the Firmware is 1.1.2 or later, apparently they removed the EDGE settings. If thats the case you might have to download an app to allow you to access them.
TerryMcCann
That worked a treat (even on 1.1.4) thanks. I was entering the web address where I should have put wap Now my phone is extra ace

immortalpuppet
Manual settings for the swirlymms on the Sure network should be: SwirlyMMS > Settings MMSC and Proxy Server Settings MMSC: http://mmsc.gprs.cw.com Proxy: nil MMS-specific APN Settings APN: mms Username: Password: Give that a bash. fartypants
Sorry if it sounds like i'm some kind of thicko, but I thought that the iphone would only work on the O2 network, big tie up with apple and all that. Does it work then on any network?
TerryMcCann
Once unlocked it will work on any network. You have to be a bit careful not to update the software on the phone but other than that it works great
fartypants
Nice one. Money very well spent by O2 then...

You have to be a bit careful not to update the software on the phone but other than that it works great you can update to the latest firmware fine. ziphone unlockes and jailbreaks that as well. (also they have the 2.0 firmware done already before its even out!) ps. cheers for those mms settings!!
