NeverAgain
Had a look at this site mmm interesting! http://www.time4leasing.co.uk/IsleofMan.asp Very interesting, car depreciation has cost me £3,000 in 3 years, car maintenance has cost me somewhere around £1,000, so in equivalent I could lease a new car for around £110 a month and be no worse off. trmpton
There are some ridiculous deals to be had leasing in the UK at the moment. Has anyone found a UK firm that will lease to people here and allow you to run the car on Manx plates? I guess not, but would be happy to hear about it if you have
yee haa yessir!
A friend of mine highly recommends leasing,he has a vauxhall insignia, lovely motor, the price of some vehicle's being sold here by dealers is nothing short of a rip off, some thing I intend to look in to in the near future
Merkin
Funny that, a Vauxhall insignia would be my first choice as well if I ever had the opportunity to lease a car.

Lxxx
Renault Clio, cost me £1800 3 years ago and still going strong. It's a lump of metal that gets me from A to B and it's economical. Leaves me to spend my money on travel and nice holidays, not gazing at an even shinier lump of metal sat on my drive.
Annoymouse
Are leases included in the new car sale figures? Yes I believe so as they would be registered to the leasing company.
notwell
Anyone purchasing new or nearly new cars on finance would probably be better off leasing. By the time you work out the depreciation and finance costs then leasing makes sense. Roy Hall does leasing on the island I believe. A neighbour of mine is doing a lease deal through him and it appears ok to me. He would be someone buying the car on finance and the numbers make sense to lease. And business leasing makes sense in a lot of cases.
Max Power
Most manufacturers will do leasing, some dealers can't use the manufacturer's schemes as we are not regulated by the FCA on the island but it can still be arranged by the dealer locally. Get a life
Roy Hall at Neva will help you on the Island. I worked in leasing for 19 years if you have any queries feel free to pm me and I will explain how the different schemes work.

war baby
Can anyone update this thread please? I would like to lease a good modern car on the IoM. I am tired of driving old bangers! What are your recent experiences?
Merkin
My personal experience of reading the former NOT joke was fabulous. Keen to hear the views of others. Also, hear Rex Leasing are up to good things. Edited June 7, 2019 by Merkin
