war baby
Those of us who have followed car racing and rallying in all its forms for many years will remember Neville Hay, who sadly died yesterday. He was a great fan of all things Manx and lived here for about twenty years before leaving to return to his Worcestershire roots and family in older age. He was the voice of many motor sporting events including the first Manx Classic in its pure historic form around the old Willaston circuit, a thrilling spectacle on the streets of Douglas, evocative of the glory days of the Mannin Beg and the British Empire Trophy. Neville leaves a huge legacy of motor racing history via Hay Fisher Productions, many links online. Unfortunately due to squabbles over copyright, the historic early Manx Classic video clips are not available yet. They were all filmed and many televised by Neville and his crew. Nev’s son Richard continues the business and I offer him and the family sincere condolences.
A fool and his money.....
He was a character that's for sure. Must have been a good age by now.
war baby
Yes, he was mid eighties. Tremendous fun and a great character, particularly late at night after a glass or two. A great raconteur with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject.
Max Power
So sorry to hear this, he was a great character and a supreme voice in motor racing circles. I heard him often commentating on Le Mans, and a few days later, the same voice in our showroom negotiating his next purchase.
